attack the food provision chain and wait for them to beg for Mother Russia’s aide.<<<

Yes, they have done it before, to several countries.

Many of the bioweapons that Russia worked on, during the cold war, ‘escaped’ into the Russian countryside and is still there, Anthrax being one of them and several others.

You will find them as alerts from ProMedMail.org files over the years, Pro Med is a UN group, so they do not say something was a weapon, unless it really is.

thanks, might be useful for research. As an aussie, all I can say is the less I know about the sixties in the US the happier I am. For so many years we were told here how far behind we were...now, I see it as a blessing.

The road we live on is called the Wildflower Trail.

How pretty! We've driven to the poppy reserve over in Antelope Valley a few times during wildflower season. How neat to be able to just go out your front door and go for a walk and see them all!

Sure, post the URL. How amazing to get snow one week and a few weeks later, have wildflowers bloom! One thing that keeps us in Mexifornia - besides the job thing - is the weather. Hubby is from back east and never liked the weather. We are considering moving back there some time (land is amazingly cheaper - and it’s pretty land, not like the ugly Bakersfield stuff!) - but he keeps mentioning the weather. The days of rain where you can’t go out and do what you had planned. And the bitter cold in the winter with no sun for months. Our cabin gets cold - but amazingly enough, we’ve been out in T-shirts with 5 feet of snow on the ground. The afternoons can be pretty nice when the sun is out - and I think I’d get depressed with overcast weather all the time.

Absolutely. The 'backwards' states here that the ruling elite think are full of bitter gun clingers are the states that are doing well finanacially and can tell the fed where to put the stimulus money (like West Virginia). The 'progressive' states, like California, are dead broke. And deservedly so, IMO!
,br>Enjoy being behind - it's actually being ahead in this mixed up world. I think I'd like to go back to the 50's - when people had values and morals and our education system still taught academics. If you guys are back in that realm, more power to 'ya!

Somethings confuse me, and the State Department is one that always leaves me wanting to ask which country they serve, not the U.S. , in my opinion.

Not only the State Dept....Glen Beck had a break down a few nights ago of where AIG's bailout money went. The bonuses were a miniscule amount (and I might add, used to direct our focus away from the real scam). The majority, about 60 billion, went to banks in Europe! Another 40 G went to American banks. Weren't we supposed to be bailing out OUR economy, not Europe's? /s

The Joys of HyperInflation

I can't figure out if we're going to see deflation or inflation (hyper or slightly less). The worst case scenario would be a period of deflation, where a lot of people lose jobs and companies close, and then hyperinflation.

It's hard to plan well for both since it would involve planning for two polar opposite events.

Which do you think, Eagle?

I have been reading up on salting meat. When I get some good links I will post them on the new thread.

Please do! I would like to find ways to store food that don't involve either canning (because I haven't learned to do that yet) or freezing (since power may be sporadic at my hidey-hole). thanks and welcome.

5 am and I am sitting here teasing a kitty on the computer

Do you normally get up that early?

It is rather addicting. He acts just like one of my cats, who gets mad but will never leave if it involves playing.

>>>Sounds like you guys are kinda back in the good ol’ days if you’re out delivering eggs!<<<

Really? Gosh, 1 1/2 dozen to each of our two daughters, two dozen to wife’s aunt (abt. 92) and a dozen to a woman who works with my wife who has been out while recovering from surgery, and 1 1/2 dozen to our family Doctor/neighbor...

Gotta keep those family and community associations strong - never know when we will need each others support.

>>> The worst case scenario would be a period of deflation, where a lot of people lose jobs and companies close, and then hyperinflation. <<<

I'm much too old and have too poor a prognosis to get twisted about the future, making personal peace is a blessing, I'm concerned about my family and attempting to make sure we have food and the means to survive.

that's a very harsh reality for me

what I’m being told is:
“Citing the dollar currency tanking, gold (and Oil) soaring, along with the unknown of troubled assets,
most opinions I receive are pointing to your W/C scenario.

from growing up DEEP in the woods, it's funny,... but it kinda feels like going back in time...

Dear Granny,

While I try to be totally supportive of the sharing of all the recipes, I must register a complaint.

The recipe you posted for peanut butter, honey, chocolate chip fudge has two problems...

1. It is too good!!!

2. It is too easy to make!!!

How am I supposed to maintain my girlish figure with such temptation?

LOL - Really, recipe is fantastic and sooooo easy. Made a batch tonight and nobody could stop at one.

Thanks for the recipe!
