Here's some pics from the way-back file of a Daddy and His Little Girl's Love...
We may convert you yet! LOL! I've enjoyed posting some of the 'romantic' songs I've got uploaded. Need to do another John Gary one - that Irish Tenor also makes me swoon :) Try this one..............OHHHHHHHHHHH, be still my heart! Be still.
Awwwwwwww Daddy’s little girl looking so sweet who wouldn’t love her. :) Hi, Dave!
So sweet, Jaycee, and soon it will be time to see those beautiful tulips popping up out of the ground!
Hi Billie. Yep, she sure is a beauty.
...and to your next post to jaycee, our next door neighbor’s “daffydills” are blooming already and my rose bushes are starting to sprout new growth. Come On, Summer!
We always start having some nice ‘warm’ days in February, and then just when Spring flowers start thinking it’s ‘time’ to show their colors again BAM! Mother Nature says, “No not yet!”
Nice pics, but better you than me! LOL Sunny and 70 here today!
Spring peepers are jumping the gun and so are my allergies. I can barely breathe.
Great holidays! And I love the theme!
First time hubby and I got called for kissing was at school. Almost 28 years later, we’re still getting fussed at for being too lovey-dovey! LOL
What is it about beaches that is so romantic? LOL
There’s just something about walking along the shore with the one you love—can’t be beat!
#2 son had to write a paper for comm college English on this photo—and do it from the perspective of it being a family member.
The local small paper I write gardening articles for had just printed a story about one of the first married women WACS, I think, and how she had to write Eleanor Roosevelt to be allowed to sign up. A local woman, her hubby was already overseas and she was hoping to join him. They never got together until after the war. #2 wrote the paper as if the kissing couple were his grandparents and wove in facts he’d taken from the real story. It was outstanding!
To me the tide reminds us of eternity ebbing and flowing and changing things that seem to stay the same and washes other things away.
Today I take a moment to honor the wonderful folks of OZ (Australia) and to give a moment to the terrible loss they suffered.
Bitter Ashes
A black ash landscape seared of life and love and hope
The stench of ruin and heartless pain too hard to cope
Dreams lost amid the grey mess, like tinder did they go
And now there is shock and pain on the wind it flows
For some a savage delight, to see the flames rise higher
For them a sick joy in the hunger of a dark demons fire
For the rest the sorrow and the grief to bear in torn heart
The lost to morn, souls seeking how to even try to start
Weeping in the wind now, and the etching of the soul
A thousand years of pain, and still no one is ever whole
Pray for strength, and grace, with tears upon your face
For those lost to madness, and those who were so base
The empty land scarred in Prometheuss two edged gift
Oh how will anyone ever know the spirits right to lift
The terror and the so deep pain, the passing oh so hard
Unfit to even be carried, on the voice of the shaken bard
Oh peace, youre a million miles from this shattered land
And the too few stragglers make up a weary tattered band
My private heart cries out, my hand reaches to comfort you
Knowing that I can do so little, no matter what I try to do
I pray and feel inadequate in this moment you fought hell
My prayers seem like wind drift ash, at the tolling of the bell
You walk a bitter road, under black branches amid the ash
How can I reach out and help, after a blow of hells hot lash
I weep for thee and would shelter you, hold you oh so near
But I can not, worse, you cant hold those you held so dear
Time flows on, as it is wont to do, in spite of an unknown fate
But the heart will find a way, some unknown and distant date
The time will come and you will rise to stand again one day
For the Maker will succor you, if you but bend again to pray
I will send my prayers to you, with hopes to staunch your pain
May you find a measure of tranquility, and learn to smile again
Its getting near the end of this series but I intend to watch it too.
Billie, I have always loved that song. Very romantic...
What darling pictures, Dave! She is so precious!
Spring is my favorite time of the year (I think we all agree on that season.) And I think it just renews us when all those little buds just starting peeping out. Awwwww...and when you walk outside in the spring, seems you can hear a thousand birds chirping and singing.
