Post your Super Bowl XLIII predictions. Okay, the joke about the "team with more points win" is old and no longer funny or clever.
I am going with the upset
Arizona Cardinals 21
Pittsburgh "0bama - I have always been a fan of " Steelers 13
You guys really need to get over your Steelers Derangemant Syndrome. Seriously. You’re starting to sound like libs who resent success and achievement through hard work. “Punish those Steelers for being successful!”. Am I at FreeRepublic or DumbocratUnderground?
Rushie’s and America’s Steelers- 24
Cardinals- 17
I’m looking for a surprise win by the Cornhuskers.
Pulling for the Cards, but I don't make predictions.
Some men will play a child’s game.
They will collect huge paychecks.
Media people and members of the public will shower half of them with adulation, half with disparagement.
At least one murder, 25 assault and batteries, and 500 emergency room visits due to physical injury, and 5 for alcohol poisoning, will result. Depending on the home city of the losing team (as opposed to “Losers”, which defines the entirety of the NFL and a good chunk of its fan base), there may be a car fire and several arrests for vandalism and looting.
I don’t care if you don’t think this is funny. It’s not meant to be.
The really sad part...I no longer care if all of that comes true.
Post your Super Bowl XLIII predictions. Okay, the joke about the “team with more points win” is old and no longer funny or clever.
“the team with the lessor points loses”
I will go with the cards, Steelers will control the game till the 4th quarter when Obama will order them to withdraw by the two minute warning.
So you’re a Lions fan, huh?
Adrian Wilson will be the MVP....great article about him on the Arizona Cards web site
that’s funny right there !
Steelers pound them. I’m rooting for the Cardinals (Ravens fan) :) but I don’t see Arizona getting anything but beat up by Pitt...
Heh.
I wish it had been me a couple years ago who first said...
“Go, Lions...
...and take the Tigers and Red Wings with you!”
Cardinals 42
Pittsburgh 17
Being a Raiders fan, I don’t really have a dog in this fight, but anyhoo....
The Cardinals have been utterly amazing this year. Whether or not they win the Superbowl, Kurt Warner has proven to everyone who wrote him off that he does in fact belong in the league. That said, they will be up against one of the strongest defenses in the NFL, and Superbowls often come down to who has the better defense.
Meanwhile, on the Steelers’ offense, Roethlisberger continues his usual patter of either pulling off big plays or getting knocked on his butt.
I think it’ll be close, but I’m picking the Steelers, mostly on the basis of that stellar defense.
Have you been watching the ESPN coverage? This going to be a Stiller homegame...they can't find a Cardinal fan to put on air (yesterday they found, for guest commentator Donovan McNab, Eagles fans in Tampa...but COULD NOT FIND A RED JERSEY). Anywhere.
So, white shirts notwithstanding...the crowd is an 80/20 split for the beloved Black and Gold (yunzers travel well).
Now, I had to do this on another thread...the Burgh bashing is getting old. The Bamster was a teen during the Steel Curtain era...of course he followed the Stillerz...alot of our generation did, and for Barry, even a stopped clock is right twice a day; Jack Murtha does not represent Pittsburgh in the US Congress...he represents Johnstown, PA...folks get a map and a clue; Dan Rooney is the lib Rooney Brother; he has other conservative brothers who were/and still are to an extent owners of the team; and there are Christian, faith filled players on the Black and Gold as well.
There...I feel better...don't make snap my Terrible Towel...
Steelers 35 Cards 10.
So is syphilis.
Ah, the Detroit Lions...The France of the National Football League
His usual PATTERN, even. Jeez, I haven’t had THAT much wine!
Arizona 31 - Pittsburgh 27.
As a Raiders fan, I’m thankful that the Lions suck more. :)
I predict a really close game, and the Cardinals win by 1 point.
ReneeLynn, there is no such thing as “anything-derangement-syndrome in football!” Some of us have been hatin’ on other teams for years and years, it’s part of the enjoyment of football season to trash talk other teams and other team’s supporters.
