LOL!
They have them at Wal-Mart. You pop them in the microwave for 2-3 minutes and you have nice warm moist heat for at least 2 hours. That and wintergreen oil has helped me through a lot of back aches.

Hmmmm...
I have a heating pad, but it shuts off after about an hour. Safety measures. I could do with wintergreen oil. If I could find an applicator....

Yeah, I was wondering about that “bed buddy” thing. I was thinking, “Hey this is a family thread, you know!”
Not what I pictured. But then, my pictures, you know ...

Your pictures are a lot like my pictures. Are yours in color? Surround sound?

Sometimes I wish I could really draw the pictures I get in my head.
But then I’d probably just get arrested for them so what the heck.

Dinner is over, lights are back down to normal levels, and I’m about to head off to bed while the file copies from the house server to the rebuilt machine continue. I guess tomorrow I get to assess the damage.

Good morning! I admit, I couldn't be bothered to turn all the lights on last night.

LOL. We did, and the youngest sionnsareen asked about it.
New operating system up & running, and going through the usual startup fun. First issue -- how to import my bookmarks? The usual procedures aren't working. Oh well.
Snow on the ground this morning. Not lots but didn't expect any.

DP put in a new hard drive yesterday. I haven’t noticed anything different, except that it’s not as noisy as the old one. It’s sunny here, for now.

The server machine here is loud — I don’t run it often. The others make noise, but aren’t so bad. This machine is about 6 years old...

I guess this machine is about 4. I know we bought it after we moved here.
I don’t understand why we have to keep replacing computers. All I ever do is email, FReep, math worksheets, and Microsoft Word.

There are subtle things that creep in. For example, the older machines here (this is one of the newer!) aren't quite capable of recording audio from the stereo without skips.
In my case I wanted a bit snappier response when I start up an application, so I went to a newer operating system (generally a move in the wrong direction!) and light-weight windows manager.
For me it's mostly e-mail, browsing, and letters to legislators. And photo and audio processing, and... and... and...
Would be nice if I could get Adobe Flash to run. But not there yet.

That will make the push for newer machines.
For years we used to take old discarded machines and refurbish them with old OSes (Win95/98) and utilities, to give to folks who couldn't afford them. For the basic things older machines were fine.
