Repeatedly, FR moderators have moved TOP postings related to current NEWS and calls for conservative ACTIVISM from the News and Activism section, over to "blogger's and personal" which has no traffic by comparison.
I fully understand Jim Robinson's original purpose in launching FR, to provide a community in which conservatives could get TRUTH not available in the MSM, information not available in the MSM and access to fellow conservatives so that we could work together towards a conservative agenda.
Yet time after time, FR moderators bury this information over in "blogger's and personal" and kill story after story, vital to the conservative movement.
Why?
Without a change in this policy, I am through posting to FR. The moderators on FR have less sense than the moderators on DU, where they at least work to bury the opposition, instead of themselves.
What gives? Anyone understand this self-defeating policy?

I can tell you from working on a Fortune 500 website that gets far less hits than FR, that when you start getting past a million hits (FR gets 18Million plus per month according to one ranking I saw) and/or a hundred gigs of traffic, bandwidth costs go through the roof. Multiply that by redundant systems and the expenses are unbelievable.
I’ve seen others try to compare the costs to the little blogs they run, and it is a joke, they have absolutely know idea. One person I saw compared their piddly $300/month costs and couldn’t figure out why FR costs so much. What they didn’t account for is they receive, if they are lucky, 1/1000th the traffic of FR. Do the math.. Keep our site alive, donate today.
We must have a safe sector to make our 201k 401ks again...I say drink...it is our duty as Americans, it helps the economy and we might get rich...win-win-win. Booh Ya. We should call the mad Cramer and apprise him of our investment strategy or perhaps keep it to ourselves.

I did not compare FR moderators to DU. DU moderators would never silence a leftist massage, no matter where it came from... LOL
I’m always interested in reading any thread about how Free Republic works to pick up some FR technique that I don’t know yet.
I’ve noticed some frustration in people here when they don’t know how to use the various features of the FR software.
The thing I really appreciated the most was learning how to rearrange the whole content, page setup, and appearance/color of the site [click on “Account” at top of forum page, then click on “Manage Blocks”, then you get to choose want content you want and how it’s arranged on the page].
Once I helped someone find the FR “home page” after they had been here for several years [you don’t click on “Home” like other websites, you click on the words “Free Republic” found either at the top or bottom of the page].
True, I just had a forced vacation...plant down four weeks. I’ll know by Friday if I will be ‘retained’ in the company...sounds better than saying it the other way. Real vacations are the best though and fun.

I have received enough good advice here to keep going. But man, was that tough! LOL
I really did look for a means to simply ask the moderators and when I could not find that way, I was pissed by the time I posted on a section I had not idea anyone followed.
I spend little time here usually. So I am not familiar with all of the bells and whistles. I usually just post for others to read and comment upon and run along with my day.
