Today all we are hearing about are the kids’ outfits from J.Crew. Of course, the coats were not off the rack, but custom made by J. Crew.
Supposedly J. Crew stock went up 10% because the Obamas are customers.
Anyway, I hope the little girls don’t let it all go to their heads, or they will become the Show-off Snobs of Sidwell School. Very un-Quaker-like!

There is a world of difference between boring and tacky/inappropriate. Some of Laura Bush’s fashions I found a bit matronly or boring, but they were always appropriate to the situation and dignified. I have seen Michelle Obama in some really nice looking outfits, like that white number with black accents that someone has posted on this thread. However, most of the time... well bless her heart, she means well, maybe. Or else she doesn’t care.

Hillary manages to look respectable, despite not having the physical advantages the Michelle has . They told us Michelle was an elegant Jackie-O.
