Thanks, I wish I could travel, I've about caught everything around here. I'm on a first name basis with most of the birds in St. John's County!

I looked at pics of the other similar sized raptors, not really many decent quality images online, and this one fits the immatureCooper's slot better than anywhere else.

Yes, the tail bars and the chest markings are usually good field marks for that family.

But one time on a bird count, a lady was pointing out a bird and someone asked her "what is it"?

Her reply: It's beautiful!! I thought that was a nice reminder of what's really important.

BTW, It was a Harrier she saw. Was called a Marsh Hawk back in those days.
