I don’t know about Wal Mart...but this morning I hit ‘cheaperthandirt.com’ for some .30 caliber ammo for my M1.

Every brand was ‘sold out’ with the exception of their highest priced stuff, $38 per box.

Today is ‘the day before the snow storm’ as you put it so well up above.

I have Beretta Cheetah in .380. 380 ammo is pretty much sold out altogether at CTH. I put myself on the email alert list for a couple of my favorite types to be alerted as soon as a new shipment comes in. Lately any new shipments are sold out in a couple days. Fortunately I've got a couple of hundred rounds for now.

You can get .30-06 for your M-1 at http://www.thecmp.org/. They also have .30 carbine and 5.56, although the 5.56 is a little pricey.
