Count yourself lucky. Whenever politicians are out of town on vacation, they aren't screwing the rest of us. Arnold and our Marxist legislature have been pretending to go toe-to-toe over the budget for almost a year, and haven't been able to come to an agreement. In the meantime, California's bond rating has sunk to the lowest of any state in the nation. Arnold is taking what, for government, passes for drastic cost-cutting measures, like keeping the Dept. of Motor Vehicles closed on Fridays.
In the meantime, I'm making plans to move to Utah in a few months. Love California, but can't afford to live here anymore. You name the type of tax, and California's is the highest in the nation. We also have one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation, behind only Michigan and Rhode Island. People and companies are leaving in droves. It's the reverse of the old 1930's dust bowl days when millions moved to California.
Prayers that your move and all the things that it entails will go smoothly. (((Wolfstar)))
It was tough for me when I had to leave California but I’m so happy I made the move back home. I actually bought a house, something I could never have done in LA. I also have 2 pups that run crazy in my back yard. I work 30 hours and love the stress free life. Good luck to you.
