OK all of you old farts.........with all of these sob stories...does anyone remember Jack (forgot his last name) that was on TV in the 50s with that show “Queen for a Day” where the best sob story accompanied by the winning “Applause meter” got the poor sap a mink coat and a tiara? LMAO!!!!!!! That show cracked me up even then......and they had much mroe entertaining stories than these!

YES, I remember “Queen for a Day” when I was a kid! IIRC, the prizes weren’t even so hot...they’d win like a washing machine or something. But the winner would be sobbing with joy as they put the crown on her head. I might be remembering wrong, since I was a little kid at the time, but I think comedians used to make fun of the show even then.
