A couple of weeks ago, there was a thread for a FReeper that had passed and I went and checked out that Memorial Wall section. I was surprised by the amount of people that I thought had left the site, that had passed. Kind of sobering really. I've found it interesting how we can become attached and close to people that we have never met in real life.
Been a heck of a day, hasn't it :-/
the DJ announces that, in a few minutes, they were going to play a special tribute to Obama by Celine Dion. Crapola!
This is insane. And scary.
You’re welcome! & T Y for your replyI agree with all of what you said/typed...especially the last line’s sentiment!
:)
Hi Jonny. Glad to catch you before you turn in for the night. Yeah, it's insane and very, very scary. But it wasn't a heck of a day for me because I paid very nearly zero attention to the news. I've blocked FOX News, MSNBC, and CNN from appearing on my TV. I know the channel numbers and can easily find them if some big breaking news happens. Otherwise, who needs them. It's just the same old drivel by the same old people droning on, and on, and on, and on ad nauseum.
I haven't watched broadcast news in who knows how long. Years. I'll catch local news once in awhile. I cherry pick what news I want to consume off the internet. Much happier this way.
ROFL!!!
Now I'm going to get some crackers to go with my cheese. :-P
Hey that wasn't cheese :) That was sensible thinking. We should live our lives as best we can, and not pay "that one" any attention. Hopefully the next four years will pass by quickly and we'll all survive this and be stronger than we were before.
Would you like some corn to go with your cheese ;)
ME TOO! And my doughnuts had better have chocolate icing! And none of that cake doughnut stuff either! The One had better produce fried or nothing!
And I'll leave my browser on my bank page so The One can sneak in overnight and pay my bills. He's like Santa Claus, right? Isn't that what everyone on TV says?
American Idol: Big Surprise Coming When Show Reaches Top 12
With American Idol season 8 underway and many announcements being made of changes this season, Mike Darnell, president of alternative entertainment for FOX revealed that there are a couple more surprises in store for American Idol viewers this season. In an interview with TV Week, Mike Darnell said, Theres a big surprise coming when we get to the top 12, but I cant reveal it right now. He said even the contestants will be surprised!
Some other changes revealed for season 8 are the contestants are going to live in a house instead of a mansion and there will be more behind the scenes footage taped. So if anything happens between the contestants like sparks flying, we will be able to see some of it. Were hoping to get more of who they are, more of the reality version, to be honest with you. It makes the show tick, Mike Darnell said.
Mike Darnell also told TV Week that Kelly Clarkson will appear on the show in a couple of weeks and that only big named musicians will be included as mentors this season.
So, American Idol may look a little bit like a musical version of Big Brother this season and forget about seeing the likes of Dolly Parton or Neil Diamond as mentors. If the show is trying to appeal to a younger crowd they will probably bring on Super Mega stars like Rhianna or Usher!
Mike Darnell is pretty happy with the way things are going so far this season, especially the addition of the fourth judge, Kara DioGuardi and he commented, Well, weve done everything we can. Of course we added a fourth judge and were hoping that that changes the dynamic a bit, because what weve noticed with her is that shes very good. Shes aggressive, she will fight with Simon Cowell, shell bond with Paula Abdul, shell fight with Paula, and what its doing is its taking the group dynamic and changing it. And I think the audience is ready for that. They dont say the same things over and over again, because shes inserted a different voice and that just by itself has made it moresort of new, and it really is working so far.

Studdard, Frenchie and Treynce
Poor Randy. Nobody fights with him.
What I don't like is this. If they go for the younger crowd like that, they will lose the older viewers. Variety is a good thing, if not, they wouldn't have needed that fourth judge!
hope his birth certificate is revealed and proves he’s ineligible to be the president. And then he’s dragged kicking and screaming from the White House.
And then we get Biden.....YIKES! The same nightmare just in different technicolor.
Your opening picture was really, really funny!!
LOL!! I was thinking he's more like the Tooth Fairy. You wake up and there's a billion dollars under your pillow ;)
At least Biden is a natural born American. And for all his liberalism, I don't believe Biden has any desire to be a messiah, like "that one".
Sigh ... I still can't believe what's in the White House now :(
Ugh ...
The gender jury changes their vote to guilty! LOL
I try not to think about it. I'm pretending that President Bush is still there.
LOL! For some reason Biden is less scary to me. He seems fairly harmless. But he'd probably say something stupid about Indian people working at call centers to the leader of India triggering a nuclear "incident".
LMAO!! Cake ones can be good, too. A boston cream with a medium light latte from Dunkin Donuts is my favorite "bad" breakfast.
But, Krispy Kreme does have the ones filled with more or less Twinkie filling....
