Taylor Hicks was great...I wanted him to win from the very first time I saw him.
Saturday Night Live had the original artist on that sang “Trouble,” and he was good, but Hicks’ version was SOOOO much better!

I don't remember a huge uproar when Jennifer Hudson was cut. She was one of three or four black divas that season, so Idol probably felt they had their bets covered regardless. That was when Jennifer, Fantaiser and LaToya were the bottom three and I think it was Elton John that raised a stink suggesting racism.

so that means that if “the rule” was in effect in the past, it wouldn’t have saved Tamyra or Chris anyway! True! The more I think about it, the dumber it gets.
Maybe they think the "new rule" will create suspense in the earlier rounds.

Not sure. Someone mentioned that Taylor Hicks has a night off from "Grease" on the 18th, so he might be peforming next week. I heard Taylor on the radio this morning and he said he'll definitely be on AI at some point this season, but he didn't say when.
