Arizona Carolyn,

You are so over the top on this you have turned this thread into a religious vendetta thread, which is NOT what GVnana intended when she posted this article.

Thank you. Indeed, I intended to cast some light on a tragedy, and perhaps bring about some understanding for families who face such challenges.

RummyChick is what we used to call a "gravedigger." They hijack threads and grandstand, posting so obsessively that they disrupt any rational discourse.

I agree with ROCKLOBSTER'S assessment:
This little black-hearted display of yours makes you exactly equal to Fred Phelps' disgusting crew of moonbats from the Westboro "Baptist" "Church" If you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything. You're supposed to be Christians...act like it and shut up. 90 posted on Sunday, January 04, 2009 5:52:04 PM by ROCKLOBSTER

RummyChick's reply?

I never said I was a Christian. Maybe I wear a Guy Fawkes mask.

RummyChick has made several allusions to an association with the group Anonymous, including links to videos.

Anonymous members take credit for hacking Governor Palin's private email accounts and spreading her personal email on the Internet.

Members of Anonymous - that sprawling group of online rabble-rousers best known for taking on the Church of Scientology - have apparently hacked into a Yahoo! email account belonging to Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

According to the bulletproof truth seekers at Wikileaks, "activists loosely affiliated" with Anonymous somehow gained access to the account at around midnight Eastern on Tuesday. Screenshots of emails purportedly lifted from this account - which carries the address "gov.palin@yahoo.com" - were then passed to Wikileaks, and Wikileaks shared the stash with world+dog. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/09/17/anonymous_hacks_sarah_palin/

Here's a photo of one of their little troupes in action:

A group of more than 50 masked protesters gathered yesterday outside of the Church of Scientology of Boston headquarters on Beacon Street to demonstrate against the policies of the church. Protesters said the event was part of a worldwide demonstration against the church by Anonymous, an informal Internet-based group.

Anonymous and Fred Phelp's Westboro Baptist Church look like two sides of the same publicity-seeking coin:

"Thank God for IEDs."

I am also in agreement with Wolfstar's comments:

I am repulsed by cruelty and the kind of intolerance in evidence on this thread. Nice of you to post my paragrah without context or attribution. Maybe it was just too much trouble for you to provide. Here. Let me do it for you: Link to my comments about libertarianism on this FR post. 69 posted on Sunday, January 04, 2009 5:31:08 PM by Wolfstar

RummyChick has been asked, several times, by several posters, to post her own thread since her diatribes are off-topic. But, obviously, her intentions are otherwise.

I am in agreement with this comment:

My wife and I are equally disgusted with some of the comments here. Some acquaintances of the Travolta family may indeed be viewing these threads. There will be plenty of time to analyze and criticize the events of this tragedy, and the structure of Scientology later, but leave the family alone now.

We invite other freepers to reject the views of the few posters as not being representative of our otherwise gracious and charitable conservative community.

Whatever RummyChick's motives, they certainly are NOT CONSERVATIVE.

Good synopsis. Thank you.

Something I would add to your observations is just as I feared Anna Nicole Smiths daughter will some day read the comments about her mother on the web, I feel it is very sad that Ella Bleu Travolta will someday read the comments about her brother and parents on the web -- including sites such as FreeRepublic. I thought we were better than that here.

I agree and hope your wishes will be followed by some who have become obsessed with this story. I have read shocking gossip about the Travolta's on this thread.

Here is my reply to your little troupe comment.

Less than one month after the infamous Tom Cruise video that started it all...

this is what happened:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcAYOVW7GQA&feature=related

It is actually quite amazing to see what the power of the internet can bring together.

I believe that Anonymous has been instrumental in getting the truth out about Scientology.

I have not joined one of their protests. But I may do so during the next one.

It is not an organization owned by anyone. It is a group of people with a common cause. Did one of them hack into Palin’s email account?
I don’t know the full story...it appears it may be so. But it is not thousands of people in a corporate structure governed by a leader.

One voice has become thousands and perhaps those trapped by the cult can find a way out. I saw an interview with one former cult member..he said he was making 11.00 a week.

Hopefully, Mark Headley’s lawsuit will bust their labor violations wide open.

I will assume that Travolta has been brainwashed...but I hope he is not partaking in any of the money scammed from these poor victims.
