Just ask Mercedes. They’re *still* in serious trouble over going downmarket. Or Cadillac, for that matter. Anyone else remember the Cimarron?

All car makers are in trouble. Overcapacity and lack of money to buy luxury brands like Mercedes and Apple. Apple can either learn from the Psystar boys or it is headed for quarterly losses. The proles want Apple but can't afford them

So why is Apple doing better than Dell, a notoriously low-end OEM? Apple's support is even still in the US, as opposed to unintelligible "try reinstalling the OS" support from India. Sure it costs more, but it's customer satisfaction that plenty of people are willing to pay for.

All these reasons together are why Apple consistently tops OEM customer satisfaction surveys by a wide margin. I wonder what kind of support you get from Psystar when their cheap beige boxes have problems.
