So other than insult me, do you have any ideas? What is your experience with home robberies?
Thanks for the link. Nice.
Thin skinned? Does seeing flaws in your assumption have to be an insult? people disagree around here all the time. Every action taken to thwart the actions of a thug carry with them a significant statistical chance of failure, but carrying a long gun erect, in both hands, and close to the body is the accepted method set out by those that train others in dealing with planned assault. With minimal practice one can get off an accurate close range shot in less than one second from that posture, even if injured.
Hand gun shots on the other hand, are typically inaccurate, and the high energy bullet travels far beyond the combat zone, and presents a danger to persons in unknown, and undiscernable locations. large caliber hand gun projectiles can easily travel through the intended victim, and mortally wound a second.
You are missing the difference between an urban assault and home burglary.
In a planned assault, you have backup and body armor. You don’t have that at home. One second is a long time if someone is waiting for you to appear. When I had a chance to play the bad guy in an urban assault class, it was pretty easy to shoot the good guys first.
Hand guns shots at range are notoriously bad. If you practice shooting from the hip, hitting a person at 5-8 feet (typical range inside a house) is instinctive. My home sits on one acre. By the time it passes thru a few walls and exits, I’m not much worried about the neighbors. Anyone hiding behind the bad guy deserves whatever they get. Besides, I don’t plan on missing.

No, the ‘plan’ is by the perp; you are reacting to it. Still too much TV influence filtering in.

Sorry for necroposting, but I just bought one of these and it is awesome. The heavy barrel really helps ameliorate the recoil.
So, when can we expect a range report?
