Let's face it; as conservatives, we would be miserable if we vetted our entertainment by ideology. Lawrence Welk, Bobby and Cissy and the Osmonds get old after a while. The exception is the overt hate we see from rap, Michael Moore, Barbra Streisand etc...
I’m a bit surprised that Andy Griffith would endorse him, but Ron Howard is typical Hollywood. Andy and Opie Taylor were smarter than the actors who played them and would never have voted for an ethically-challenged politician.
I agree with you. I can’t watch without that little infusion of nausea. I don’t think I’ll watch Matlock ever again.

As for Griffith’s illegitimate son Ron Hoawrd, that guy has taken to smearing a dead man, so nobody expects any better from him.
