Did a search on "Linda Lingle" and "native son" hoping to find a half-remembered article/news item in which Gov. Lingle was calling BO a "native son" of Hawai'i (as opposed to "natural-born" son). Where had I heard that one?
Came up instead with letters to the editor (Honolulu Advertiser and Star-Bulletin), pre-election I think, of people complaining that Lingle was hinting that Obama's ties to the Island were tenuous at best. They tried to explain it away as Lingle's being partisan/favoring the McCain/Palin ticket.
I still think Lingle knows something and it comes out in what she does NOT say.
Lingle is sworn by oath to uphold, among other things, the Constitution of the United States. If she were true to her oath, she wouldn't have to be coy about this.
Interesting that you brought up Gov. Lingle of Hawaii, who has been an obstructionist (for lack of a better word) in this BC matter. Linda Lingle is no fan of BO. When the news said she sealed his birth certificate she made them retract the story and went on record to make it clear she did no such thing. She campaigned for Palin. Also read this where she insinuates he wasn't there except for a few years in high school: http://www.politicker.com/tags/linda-lingle
