A Few Reasons to Hate Christmas

- Christmas is really a pagan holiday to celebrate the winter solstice and the end of the harvast. Jesus was probably born in late September.
- Even if Jesus was born on December 25th,
an orgy of materialism showing friends and family how much you love them is not an appropriate way to celebrate his birth. - Many Christians recognize this paradox, hence the emphasis to "put Christ in Christmas." This means evening devotionals about the birth of Christ, special candles, and other rituals. Yet this has the effect of elevating Jesus' birth above his death and resurrection. Most Christians do not take comparable steps for Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday.

” showing friends and family how much you love them is not an appropriate way to celebrate his birth.”
So, you admit you know nothing of Jesus?

I read the other day that they have determined that Jesus was born on June 17! Does it really matter? Jesus is the gift that God gave us to free us from sin. We should be giving Jesus to others so they might be free too!

I heard the the fact that the shepherds while tending their flocks and that their were new lambs being born that Christmas was in the spring.
Christs birthday, it has been told, was celebrated by early Christians in Rome at the same time as the solstice, pagan celebrations so as to not bring undo attention to Christians, so as to keep them from being lion fodder in the various arenas.
The commercialization of Christmas is something that I truly dislike....

There is so much to say here, what I really want to say is better left to a private conversation because I want to ....
Anyway, my experience with people who say what you have said are just to cheep to celebrate Christmas, so they use any excuse not to.
I give because Christ gave to me first. I celebrate His birth because without His birth there would not have been His death and resurrection.
I have pity on you this season, that there is so little joy in your heart.

You know, it doesn’t matter when Christ was actually born. As Christians, we have the freedom to esteem one day above another, and if we want to recognize Christ’s birth on December the 25th, we have the freedom to do so.

The accuracy of these arguments is meaningless.
Christmas is when Christians choose to celebrate the Birth of Christ.
