Earlier this month we reported about a sighting of a luminous grey UFO in the historic town of Bury St Edmunds in the United Kingdom. The UFO was seen spinning and hovering over the St Edmundsbury Cathedral by a townsman who promptly notified the police. It later emerged that the UFO was also seen by a staff member of the Cathedral. Sarah Friswell, the Cathedrals visitor officer, noted that the topic of the mysterious craft had come up in a staff meeting and

I stand "corrected", sort of. We have two images to review. I missed the other one in the hard hitting "article", (visions of Pulitzer's dance in my head), where we're informed "The photo can be viewed below."
It's not a photo, it's yet another dime store quality Flash file, linked from YouTube, known primarily as the benchmark for which Canon and Nikon, et al, aspires to, of which some gayboi zooms in on yet another ill-defined blob, .... oops, it's a perfectly good photo, goes word on the street. And as an added bonus, the de rigueur Casio keyboard sounds have been added, which gives it a familiar "alien autopsy special, next week on FOX!" feel.
Bottom line - I can't take something seriously when it's done in such a bargain basement fashion.

So you’d take it more seriously if George Lucas were running the cameras? That figures.
Lucas?!? The hero of dweebs, the creator of such social significance as Ewoks and Grover....uh, I mean Yoda and JarJar Binks, the revisionist moron who can't keep his hands off the final product? (Greedo shot first)
Really, son, if you're going for the jugular, be serious about it.

You seem to know alot about Lucas — so shall we take that as a “yes?”
There's no question that the ancient part of me would set off alarm bells. But I see no reason to have a constant adrenaline rush over something that doesn't exist in an imaginary future.
Do you?
As for the pocketbooks of Lucas and that other revisionist moron Spielberg, who I learned to quit giving money to decades ago, Art Bell and P.T. Barnum made a lot of money too, so what's your point?
Could it be that in rejecting God they have left a deep need in their lives that they are now trying to fill with everything from little green men to leprechauns? Could it be that the people you describe as "True Believers" are actually the ones who are suffering from the fear that they are in fact very much alone in the universe?
We skeptics not the ones who live in fear. It's the "True Believers". I for one would be very, very excited if there was indeed any evidence that I could believe that there were intelligences other than our own. In the mean time I'll trust observation and critical analysis .
What Ive noticed about some of the more rabid believers, what elevates them to kook status, is that their God apparently isnt enough, that His helping hand in accepting the real world is insufficient. We absolutely must worry about a non-existent tomorrow, therefore He has to be supplemented.
Where do Angels dwell, Jo Jo?
Is there a reason for your question?
Do you believe in Angels? Are they by definition ‘extra-terrestrials’?
I for one was taught that angles dwell at the hand of God and are His messengers.
Are we transitioning the conversation from UFOs to theology or are you saying that UFOs are the messengers of the almighty? If so, I'd say you were trivializing my faith.
Personally I'd rather keep matters of faith out of this cheezeball discussion and stick to the evidence. We have this UFO, presumably large enough to hold some kind of alien life forms, unless it's a UFOUAV of some sort. Presumably it is larger than the two kilogram rock that fell on Canada and was imaged by at least three separate cameras. Given that the UK is virtually blanketed by security cameras, why are there not more pictures of the Suffolk UFO?
Is this a New Age questionaire?
I do too, but you can't help but notice when the loudest proponents drop in that "but I believe in God too" stuff. :)
I predict there won't be any more pictures from Suffolk, stamp sized or otherwise. My pesky little habit of thinking things through tells me that there's been waaaaaay too much time wasted already in posting images. It's not like the old days, where you had to mail all your film to some place in another state.
Dang, I might have given them their latest excuse.
I for one believe there are unidentified flying objects. (Look! Something flying! I don’t know what it is! Do you? No? Gee, we can’t identify it!)
On the other hand, given the laws of physics (even with the odd little ‘gaps’ like the ‘Alcubier warp drive’ solution to Einstein’s equations), and the complete failure of SETI to find any evidence of intelligent signal sources, I think it vanishingly unlikely that any spaceships or other artifacts of extraterrestrial origin are anywhere in the vicinity of Earth, or ever have been.
If you are a believer in Angels then you have read about them in the Bible, likely. From what the Bible tells us of Angels, they do not dwell on the earth. Now, honestly, do you believe in extra-terrestrials or not? God created all of space and time and all the permutations of same.
There may be a reality no further away from you than the length of your arm, yet you cannot sense it at all. That reality is a spacetime continuum that is real and is even written about, indirectly, in the fifth Chapter of Daniel.
The hand that wrote upon the wall was in Belshazzar's presence, Belshazzar's spacetime continuum, but the being to whom it was attached was not in the spacetime continuum of Belshazzar, according to the story. That mysterious being could reach 'across' from one hidden continuum into the continuum of mortal Belshazzar. And I do believe that story really happened.
If you are in a spacetime continuum upon the earth,, another spacetime continuum which may also be located on this planet would be 'extra-terrestrial' to your spacetime continuum.
And one more notion, Jo Jo: folks seem to think any visitor to this spacetime continuum we occupy has to be coming from a very far away location, when in fact they may be coming from a temporal distance more than a spatial distance.
Repeat after me -
Where's the pictures taken in this spacetime continuum ?
When Jesus left the tomb without the stone blocking the entry being rolled away, what where/when did He enter as He left the where/when of the tomb? When Jesus appeards in the locked room following His resurrection, from what where/when did He come? If you can get to the point of understanding that there are where/whens you do not sense, then perhaps you can make allowance that there are experiences with flying objects that do not fit common terrestrial experiences. Perhaps then you will stop ridiculing folks who claim to have had experience which you have not had.
