He was a retired Army MP Colonel and former center for the LSU Tigers football team in the 1930's.
They transferred him to the MP's because he couldn't fit into a Sherman tank.
He was also quite a stickler for being on time and properly attired.
When we went to dinner the first night of the trip, he walked into the restaurant, took one look around and bellowed, "Look at all the a$$holes wearing baseball caps indoors."
One by one the offenders sheepishly removed their caps while he stood glowering in the doorway of the restaurant.
The rest of the trip, I just picked up KFC and brought it back to the motel room for the evening meal.

Can't argue with that one either.
Great story we had to put my mom in a home dad could not handle her he was getting old too funny she smoked for 40 years got in the place and she was told it was no smoking she said ok never smoked again she got up most mornings and dressed for work like she did fo a gazillion years make up and all she has been gone 2 years miss her more each day
Wimp. If the men had not taken off their hats, or it was OK to wear them indoors, that would be one thing. But heck they knew they'd messed up. Why be embarassed that your Dad, bless his soul, pointed it out to them. An old guy can get away with stuff like that. :)
Hats indoors is a pet peeve of mine too. I don't see it much around here, but then I work on the largest military base in the free world. :) They don't go into a Blimpies and not take off their cover as they go through the door.
