"People with this problem should not drive a car/truck/train, etc"

Mr. Falk pulled up to the book signing in a rather nice sports car.

I guess he'll have to sell that.

They will forget what they are doing while on the freeway.

I sometimes forget what I am doing on the freeway, too. Seriously. It scared me for a while there and I'm too young for Alzheimer's. I'd forget exactly where I was on my way to.

Importantly, it’s now becoming a standard neurological test to use the inability to smell particular odors as an indicator of which disease a person might have.

Alzheimer’s seems to have a list of about a dozen common smells that indicate the disease if the patient is unable to smell them. This helps distinguish Alzheimer’s from other forms of dementia and other medical problems that have mental side effects, like insufficient thyroid hormone, which is often misdiagnosed as Alzheimer’s.

I really hope it’s not Alzheimer’s, maybe just “sundowners.” Also, dementia is another story. It just means loss or slowing down of some brain capacity. This often happens following stroke.

Thanks!

The researchers have put together list of the top ten smells which they say are the best predictors of Alzheimer’s. These are; strawberry, smoke, soap, menthol, clove, pineapple, natural gas, lilac, lemon and leather.

I have, care for, a 92 year old Mom with "It."

This is the 10th anniversery of what I expected would probably be "her last Christmas." She has a 96 YO sister with it.

So sad. I absolutely loved Columbo! In fact, I tried yesterday to find it on FanCast - to no avail.

No matter how many times I watch Lt. Columbo, I never cease to find him amusing.
