Caylee's Grandparents 'Devastated' as Investigators Find More Bones

Investigators found a trail of bones over the weekend in a wooded area near the Orlando home of missing child Caylee Anthony as the FBI worked to identify a skull discovered there last week.

The new bones were located in an area less than a half-mile from the home the young child shared with her mother and grandparents, George and Cindy Anthony, and a lawyer for the couple said the family was preparing for the worst.

"They're devastated," Brad Conway told MyFOXOrlando.com. "They're trying to deal with this the best they can. They're realistic about the probability that it's Caylee, but they pray it's not."

Orange County Sheriff’s Office officials confirmed more bones were discovered at the site over the weekend as investigators sifted through soil.

Devastated huh? I trust these people as far as I could throw them...

You, too, would be "devastated" if the cops came up with evidence that implicated you as an accessory after the fact in a vile murder committed by your daughter.

I agree that the grandparents have hindered the investigation. I can’t imagine their stress and grief.

And, I should add, guilt. I've read elsewhere that there's some evidence that Casey and the grandmother had a huge fight the day Casey obstensibly murdered that little girl. If true, the grandmother ought to go to jail for obstruction and withholding evidence, IMO.

I still don’t understand how the grandparents were satisfied with the babysitter story. If Casey had been living with them, even if part-time, how could they accept the baby being with a babysitter for such a long period of time, especially a babysitter no one knew but Casey? No one else knew the sitter, had her number, etc.?

I don’t know what the extent of their involvement is, but they did or know something.

Guess they didn’t know their daughter was a sociopath...

Also too, I've never really heard a satisfactory explanation as to why Casey would even need a babysitter as she was a deadbeat who wasn't even working. And how would she pay for one? Of course, they'd have to come up with bogus answers because the real ones would be that all the free time she had she wanted to spend partying, drinking/drugging, screwing around and shopping, and she could always steal or prostitute to pay for one.

Disgusting, disgusting girl that Casey.

This from a December 12, 2008 story and titled,

Police ‘Somewhat Confident’ Child’s Remains Are Caylee Anthony
Evidence Discovered With Child’s Skull ‘Linked’ to Anthony Home, Prompting Police Search of House
By LEE FERRAN
Dec. 12, 2008

“Casey was officially charged for first-degree murder Oct. 14. She has pleaded not guilty to charges ranging from first-degree murder to lying to investigators. She faces life in prison if convicted.”

Maybe your thinking is correct. Perhaps after the child is officially identified they will change it from life to the death penalty.

Casey told everyone she was working at Universal Studios, when she hadn’t worked there for years though.
