History has condemned him as the megalomaniac who brought death and misery to millions. But for one woman, the name Adolf Hitler evokes a smile not a shudder. She is Rosa Mitterer, who worked as a maid for the Fuhrer at his mountain retreat in Bavaria in the 1930s. Rosa is 91 and until now has kept a vow of silence about her experiences. She has chosen to break it after realising she is the last survivor of the circle who served the tyrant in the years before he launched the Second World War.

It is important for us to keep in mind that people who seek to acquire political power never look like monsters or act like monsters. In most cases, they appear to be the exact opposite: charming, witty, compassionate and above all charismatic. Monsters know how to move crowds. That is why I prefer my politicians pedestrian.
Ignoring Godwins law, it is instructive to study the rise to power of Hitler from the inside. Not from the people who hated him, but from the people who supported him, from the people who put him in power and believed in him. Only from this perspective can we develop an understanding that will prevent us from making the same mistake the Germans made in the 1930s.
She lived on the boot end of the edicts and policies your charming, "great boss" demanded.
Her name was Anne Frank...there were millions like her who didn't put it down on paper but suffered the same fates with their entire families.
I have been watching the array of Hitler docs on Hist. Channel since pre Nov. 4th.
And I agree chilling in the American sliding down the slope too.
Sadaam has a doc or two out on Hist or like channels right now too.
The new movie you posted seems very interesting but I will hold my nose and wait for it to hit cable movie time. I cringe at the thought of watching Tom Cruise.
The Hitler doc about his pagan beliefs was very interesting...I am a lost person when it comes to history so this is all new to me.
Boy he did have a plan of action.
Killing non German/Jewish decent in record numbers and then giving the ok for German men to procreate with German/Polish woman like rabbits and having the state take the babies at birth to raise.
Oh and sterilizing those with any sign of genetic flaws and killing disabled kids with over doses then telling the parents they died of natural causes.
Talk about a Catholic gone wrong.
Hitler went off the charts.
Since you boast of an extensive photo library....I’m looking for the picture of Hitler standing in a car giving the Nazi salute(I believe going down the Chumps-Elysees); Hitler on the left, Crowd on the right. The focus in the crowd was a woman with a fiendish smile and that maniacal, freshly tasered look in her eyes.....a Classic.
Sorry. Can't find it. Will you accept this Hitler rug instead?
Thank you
But we are still free...and armed...and can still educate others and influence them, which is exactly what I intend to do.
ping
Ha....no thanks I have a black bear and 2 jaguar ‘rugs’ already.
Thanks for checking the archives....I know I’ve seen that picture posted fairly recently. I’ll keep sleuthing.
Hitler vas a badt mann, shure, but at least he luft docs undt schildern, not like dis madt mann busch.
That's exactly what they thought they were doing. Which is why the Founding Fathers devised a system to deny that kind of power to any single, fallible human.
I often look at historical pix like these, and wonder if any one of these people are still alive, and wonder at their thoughts on the moment in the pic, and now.
Such precious little children, used by adults to their own purpose.
Surely they could not have known. They just knew what their parents, and other adults told them. Very sad.
