I liked some of VU stuff including Nico but Lou Reed was not one of my faves. The rest of the band was fine. Is that Mary on the left? The one on the left looks alright.

God I wish I could come up with The Factory art scam that Warhol created. Talk about money for nothing. Only friends of O and the Clintons fall into money like that scamming fannie & Freddie & Citicorp. Sickening.

I always thought Warhol’s real art was separating rich people from their money and into his bank account. ;-)

Buddy was so far ahead of his time. The Beatles name came from the Crickets. They were huge Buddy fans.

I read a bio of Zappa a couple of years ago: he completely trashed the Hippie movement, probably more than the Vietnam war. He never did drugs, and was a ruthless taskmaster for those (un)fortunate enough to play for him. He staunchly opposed any censorship in music.

The Buggs were apparently huge Crickets fans, too!

? Who were The Buggs? I recall zillions of bands in N England circa Mersey Beat groups. Buggs?

Anything liek The Shaggs. The American girl band that was so bad that they were good.

Mary woronov was always great to watch. Nice to see Rob Zombie put her in The Devil’s Rejects despite her being like 60+ now. I think Rob has an appreciation for those who established the genre way back when.

Frank was a real libertarian who sought out child prodigies for his band. I think he had Brit Eddie Jobson in his group at a young young age. Eddie then went to Roxy Music as violinist and keyboard player.

Robert Fripp in king Crimson was another task master.

For a band that has a member who STILL never leaves the house, you'd think there would be some pictures of THEM at home.

Love the color of the walls in the Zappa household.
Also, it’s cool to see God and His mother serving tea. Don’t you just want a cuppa??

Frank Zappa proclaimed the Shaggs to be “better than the Beatles”.

When you go to Clapton's home, be sure to have some Cream with your coffee.

and be careful about taking some sugar lumps if you drop in at Grace Slick's home. She tried to dose Nixon at the White House:

Actually, I think it was Tricia she was trying to dose-but I’m sure if she got The Trickster instead she would not have complained!
I remember she brought Abbie Hoffman to be her bodyguard.
Funny, pics of Slick lately, she looks like her Mom.

John Lennon also plotted to dose Nixon. And he wonders why he was investigated by the FBI.

Jim Morrison told someone that his parents were dead. There are STILL living today if I am not mistaken.

I’ll tell you what’s bad: I saw Frank Zappa and the Mothers and don’t remember a thing about the concert. The date I took said, “Don’t you remember, we saw them?” and I said, “You’re kidding.”

There is an apocryphal story about Zappa that he went out before a concert and switched the music around at every music stand, so that each player began by playing a completely different song. He counted down and it was garbage-—but Zappa loved it.
