The nearest star to us, besides our own Sun, at a scant 93 million miles is some 9 light years away. Do the math, thats 54 trillion millions one way. I don’t know about anyone else but I’d just send a fax.

You may be thinking of the round trip. The nearest star other than Sol is Proxima Centari at 4.2421 Light years or closer to 25,000,000,000,000 (25 trillion) miles one way.

Thanks for the correction. Proxima Centari is exactly the cluster I was refering to. Wasn’t entirely sure of the name but you’re correct. The source I have puts it a 9 light years.
