In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
deportment \dih-PORT-munt\ noun
the manner in which one conducts oneself; behavior
Example sentence:
The school expects students to dress in proper attire and maintain a respectful level of deportment throughout the day.
Did you know?
"Deportment" evolved from the verb "deport," meaning "to behave especially in accord with a code," which in turn came to us through Middle French from Latin deportare, meaning "to carry away." (You may also know "deport" as a verb meaning "to send out of the country"; that sense is newer and is derived directly from Latin deportare.) "Deportment" can simply refer to one's demeanor, or it can refer to behavior formed by breeding or training and often conforming to conventional rules of propriety: "Are you not gratified that I am so rapidly gaining correct ideas of female propriety and sedate deportment?" wrote 17-year-old Emily Dickinson to her brother Austin.
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)

ever since they cut linda vester years ago I have been wary of Fox.
excellent choice.....that pic says it all. deport the lot of them
the JOB is here.....nothing else to keep us.
well linda took off to be with her baby, i never heard they didn’t let her come back. hard to say whose decision that was.
pleasant buncha jagoffs there.
do we really want to hear four years of this?
just who is the class expert on boo-tay?
at the time there were internet rumors about her conservative positions...she left to have the baby and they gave her show to the twitty duo of juliet and mike.
Oh, c’mon. You must like the pleasant seasons, and the idea of being able to throw open the windows on a summer night.
Versus living in air conditioning 11 months out of the year.
And fireants.
Linda was good and I like Megyn Kelly. There are only a handful of smart women there. I couldn’t stand ED. There are plenty of men there who get on my nerves as well. Add my remodelers to men on my list. I’m waiting on one right now and he’ll be here for at least 2 hours, putting in fixtures and baseboards and what not. My plans for the morning are shot.
-so the bakesale goodies are baked by the moms and sold to their offspring with money provided by the parents? LOL...sounds like a gotcha all the way around.
hubby put in AC and doesn’t open windows.....I really miss the fresh breeze.....life is tough. ;^)
I am headed to another orthopedic doc today.......the last one would head up your list....he was a JERK. I hope this one will at least talk to me about my options.....they are MY dang knees for goodness sake. I have trained myself well to know my limitations, no new damage, just the arthritic pain for about four months now, but still....shopping till I drop has new meaning to me...about two stores and I am done.
hockey team moms baked for this bake sale, there are maybe 40 boys ,total, on the JV and Varsity teams. there are 800 boys in the school, so it’s not quite as you described. also there were several teachers who came through and bought stuff for their classes to eat.
ah, that sounds better!
good luck at the doc!
Surgeons aren’t known for their bedside manner, so don’t let that affect your decision. Ask for references - the local PT place is a good place to get names of who to see, and who to avoid.
It’s amazing how much they can consume between classes.
Well, with the new Obama carbon trading system, you won’t be able to afford AC on those cool summer nights. So there’s that to look forward to.
Good thing you’re not at a public school. All that unhealthy food would be banned.
The Pittsburgh Public Schools banned pop at their football games!
