Petreaus/Jindal in 2012? (VANITY)

Posted on 11/10/2008 12:12:36 PM PST by WalkerDollahon

Folks,

It is not too early to start thinking about 2012. I think, if he is indeed a Republican, that General David Petraeus would be a PHENOMENAL candidate for the Republicans.

I, for one, do think that in four years time it will not be "bread and butter" tabletop, economic issues that will be driving national debate but instead a myriad of increasingly frightening international developments, i.e., a nuclear-enabled Iran, a collapse of a nuclear-capable North Korea, continued Al Quada militancy, and the largest one, an attack by Russia upon the independent nation of the Ukraine. Americans will tire of "Yes, we can!" and "Hope and Change" in the face of such reality and will be clamoring for true, steady leadership.

Jindal will be there for back-up. A brilliant, reform-minded Governor with a dazzling resume who is only 41 years old.

What say you??

“What say you??”

I don't know about the rest of you but, I'm suffering from CWS (campaign weariness syndrome) Could we give this stuff a 6 month rest?

The only role I want General David Petraeus to fill, is the same role General Washington filled during the revolutionary war.

I think you had better think about the 2010 House and Senate before wandering off to the 2012. If the House and Senate expand further to the democrats it won’t make any difference who’s elected president in 2012.

Sounds good, but we would need to know Petreaus stance on other issues beside Foreign Policy and National Security. I don't think he is a lib... libs don't make such decent, intelligent and patriotic Generals... one can see that. Especially after the vile treatment by the left, there is no love lost between them for sure. But compare him to Peter Pace... with Pace we know that he is also socially Conservative.

To sum it up, Petreaus certainly has the potential, but we need to know more.

It’s time to stop trying to force people into the white house. If Jindal wants to run he will. As far as Patreaus is concerned, where does he stand on abortion, amnesty, taxes, etc?

I like beer, maybe I need to go start a frickin vanity about that. Seems these days everyone starts another stupid frickin vanity everytime their meager brain fires.

What’s worse, most of the vainities are dumb, like this one.

Didn't feel like posting a vanity JUST for this ... I thought this was pretty funny (and if you're a nerd like me who's actually played Pokemon, it's even funnier).

Let’s see how possible candidates for 2012 *perform* in their jobs for the next 3 years. There is no point in discussing them now.

Beer is important. This stuff isn't. I think a vanity combining beer and socks would be good.

I prefer to drink sockless, but I do love Amberbock in the Fall.

I drank beer and bought a dozen new pair of my socks this weekend. Now i can retire a bunch of crappy socks. Tehy are all the same kind so I don’t ever have to put on mismatching socks. If I lose one in the dryer, i will never even know it because they are all the same type. If they get a hole in them, or get worn out, in the trash they go. I like socks. I like beer, too. Sometime i buy fancy beer, but most days it’s miller lite or bud, or some other relativel cheap stuff, but never Pabst Blue Ribbon, or anything from Genesee or Yeungling. If I am drinking beer, i definitely prefer not to be wearing socks, but sometimes a beer after getting done in the woods (Hunting, logging, whatever) i like to have a few beers, and I’d obviously still have my boots on, so I have to keep the socks on. Sometimes if it’s really cold, I will wear my socks over my hands like an innerliner to my logging mittens. I have to poke a hole in them, though, for my trigger finger in my logging mittens for the throttle of the saw. It’s hard to keep beers from freezing, sometimes, so putting them in individual socks has worked in the past, but I hate when the socks get wet. I have when my supply of beer goes dry, then I have to, and that sucks, but not as bad as having a crappy pair of socks slip down inside my boot early on in the day. That’s almost as bad as having your beer stolen. I had my beer stolen out of my boat one day, which really sucked, because it was a sunday, and where I was fishing, you couldn’t get beer on a Sunday. I was really mad about that one. Not as pissed at the time one of my “friends” messed with my socks before we went hunting. I swear that shot was a total accident.

You appear to have all the qualities I find most important in a ladyfriend.

Maybe. Maybe not. The man has never run for office before. We don’t know how he’d hold up to a campaign or what his stances on most issues would be.

I’ve noticed that if you hold a pencil by the middle with just your forefinger and thumb, and make kind of a rapid back-and-forth rubbing motion, thus wiggling the pencil, that you can make the pencil look like a bowtie. If you use a blue pencil, you can make a blue bowtie. If you use a green pencil, you can make a green bowtie. When someone walks in the room, and you hold the wiggling pencil at arms length, and you hold the bowtie-pencil just under their chin, you can make it look like they are wearing a bowtie. Of course if its a woman, thats just wierd. In that case it works best if you put it on top of their head so it looks like they’re wearing a ribbon. Sometimes I like a ribbon in a womans hair. You just don’t see that too often anymore, but I think its going to come back in style. Not the really big ribbon bows, and not in just any hair. It has to be the right kind of hair. And of course the woman has to have the right attitude to go with the ribbon.

I’ll put it succinctly: You’re nuts.
