"Update: Open Letter to Mr. Obama
Following Mr. Obamas election many people have emailed WTP to inquire about the status of the publication of the open letter in USA TODAY.
STATUS: ON THE QUESTION OF WHETHER TO PUBLISH
Not wanting to publish the open letter if, in fact, the public record contained proof of Mr. Obamas eligibility, we decided to take a close look at what had been sent to us last week by those opposed to the publication of the open letter and what others have been reporting since Mr. Berg filed his lawsuit on August 21, 2008.
We have come to the conclusion that the facts presented by Mr. Berg in Berg v. Obama, that are material to the case ARE NOT IN GENUINE DISPUTE and that at his peril, Mr. Obama has a duty to refute them. As a United States Court of Appeals has held, Silence can only be equated with fraud where there is a legal or moral duty to speak or where an inquiry left unanswered would be intentionally misleading. See United States v. Prudden, 424 F.2d 1021 (5th Cir. 1970), cert. denied, 400 U.S. 831(1970)."

Yeah, and some pie. We want our pie now.
I once read a quote from his first book, something to the effect that he knew he wanted to become President but he also knew that he would have to loose his birth certificate to do it. I have been trying to find the quote. Has anyone else read this?
Vice presidential Candidate filing lawsuit against Obama(24 Electoral College electors also filing)
Someone taking part in the election and the electors themselves got to have standing, or?
Spend your time chasing a less red herring. For example. He has a lot of personal associations that stink of corruption for starters. He is also preparing to implement a lot of really bad ideas by executive order. There are a lot of more imminent pandoras boxes about to be oprned by Obama.
Welcome to FR.
It’s crystal clear that you haven’t been following the actual legal issues here.
As others have noted without comment, you’re WRONG.
Although Stanley Dunham was an American citizen, *if* she gave birth to the Ø in Kenya and then flew back to Hawai’i, the he is *not* natural born, because she was too young to convey American citizenship.
Furthermore, in either case *if* Lolo Soetoro adopted Barack in Indonesia, that would have replaced his birth certificate with Lolo now the father, and thus made Barack an Indonesian citizen. Even if he was born in Hawai’i, this crushes his ‘natural-born’ citizenship. The ONLY way around it was for him to have filed in the State Department at age 18 to renounce Indonesian (and any Kenyan) citizenship. There’s no evidence he did that, nor that he filed for a legal name change back from Soetoro to Obama.
The mystery is that only if he were still a legal Soetoro from Indonesia would he have been let into Pakistan to visit. Or, they might have just assumed a man with his name was a Muslim. It would be interesting to know.
Berg case has far reaching ramifications that folks are not considering.
If Obama makes it to office and is subsequently found not to be citizen. And is not removed, will open door for any person citizen or not to run for POTUS
Welcome to FReepers. Does anyone know the status of (or validity of) the stories on the internet about Justice Souter ordering BHO to produce his birth certificate by 1 Dec? It allegedly was part of the orders resulting from Berg v Obama last week but I don’t want to get my “HOPES” up if it’s a hoax.
Not only does it open the door for other non-citizens, it voids a the eligibility clause. We could have a 20yr old running for president.
I can’t see him being allowed to hold the office if he’s found to be a non citzen. If you read the sample USA Today ad, they list all of the actions that will be voided if a non citizen holds the office of the president. The best case scenario is to resolve this before he’s sworn in.
governor.lingle@hawaii.gov
Wow. If he actually said that in his book, the circumstantial evidence in this case just doubled in volume.
Hey TE you said I wasn’t getting any pie remember? I am going to have to just bake them lmao.
Here is what Wikipedia has in regaurd to the definition of "Natural Born Citizen".
Naturalization Act of 1790
The Act also establishes the United States citizenship of children of citizens, born abroad, without the need for naturalization, "the children of citizens of the United States that may be born beyond Sea, or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born Citizens".
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naturalization_Act_of_1790
There are also these two tidbits from the second link,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural-born_citizen
"The 1790 Congress, many of whose members had been members of the Constitutional Convention, provided in the Naturalization Act of 1790 that "And the children of citizens of the United States that may be born beyond the sea, or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born citizens." In addition George Washington was president of the Constitutional Convention and President of the United States when this bill became law. If Washington disagreed with this definition, he could have vetoed this bill".
And
"Lowell Weicker, the former Connecticut Senator, Representative, and Governor, entered the race for the Republican party nomination of 1980 but dropped out before voting in the primaries began. He was born in Paris, France and acquired his citizenship at birth through his parents. His father was an executive for E. R. Squibb & Sons and his mother was the Indian-born daughter of a British general". He was eligable to be President with a foreign mother and being born in Paris.
Does this apply today or not?
Bake up a BC for King Hussein while you’re at it. Or just half-bake it. That seems to be good enough for Democrats.
No, because that 1790 act was later superseded.
In any event, it’s the children of “citizens”. BHO, Snr wasn’t a citizen. Also, Miss Dunham wasn’t at the age of majority at the time, and thus was a child, not an adult citizen.
Weicker dropped out because he had no chance of winning dogcatcher, let alone POTUS.
