What happened yesterday - 11/08/2008? [Update at post number 207]

Question: What happened to FreeRepublic yesterday? It was unavailable? I was beginning to suffer from truth withdrawal syndrome.

When you have a moment, could you please come on this thread and let us know what happened to cause all the down time yesterday?
Many FReepers are here asking each other, but no one is asking YOU!

After the election, I would imagine they would have to amend that number to 56 mil :|

That is just not respectful.
It's not respectful to abide by a simple request of not posting vanities that don't have any a substance. BTW no answer after 74 posts and counting.

Yes, a truly apt vanity. I’m glad you posted it as well. I had some serious shakes yesterday when I couldn’t access FR. Then there was nothing at the backup site either.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who couldn't log on later in the day. I had presumed it was a server overload with too many subscribers logged on.
I managed to log on earlier and got my fix though, whewwww !

Do you have something against us discussing this? It appears you contribute to a college football thread, I could make a very good case that shouldn’t even be here at all. At least this thread is relevant.

Having a single post is probably more efficient than 10,000 emails to the admin moderator
That would be true if the question in the title of the thread was answered long ago but no one can answer the question after 84 replies. Obviously no one has the answer and there is zero harm in sending an email if you are that curious.

imagine a mass email with 100,000 seperate replies.
A single vanity OR a “what happened sticky” is better.

Oh hush about it, would you??
I turned 40 yesterday and you know how the election went. I NEEDED to freep yesterday. Instead I posted a way-lame post at the old yahoo site, and ate entirely too much cake.
Hope JimRob’s not sick!

I sent an email to the admin moderator.
answer” server went down. its ok now.”
I still don’t get this about a vanity with “no information”.
So now, YOU decide whether there is a vanity that is “CORRECT”...great.
And your countdown is totally off base also, there has now been a lot of information re alternate sites, etc.

I now sent an email.
Ther you go! I wish I had thought of it!
I guess this is a game.
I guess so to is not honoring requests not to post vanities with no information.

The alternate site was not that good, very few posts I saw, like 4 or 5.
It's mostly good for not being in the dark about what's going on with the server.

Do you have something against us discussing this?
Do you have something against honoring a request not honoring the requests by FR?
I could make a very good case that shouldnt even be here at all.
You ignore one important point. This thread still hasn't received an answer to the question could have been easily been asked an an email. The College Football thread isn't a question. It is information provided by those interested in the subject.
