Question: What happened to FreeRepublic yesterday? It was unavailable? I was beginning to suffer from truth withdrawal syndrome.

I just posted the same question a half hour ago, but it didn;t get posted, so I didn’t try again. I was able to get onto FR in the morning , I think, but it was completely inaccessible from early afternoon till after midnight. I kept getting the hourglass, followed by THIS PAGE CAN NOT BE DISPLAYED error message.EVERYTHING else worked, just not FR>

How would you propose to begin a discussion of what happened yesterday, or, do you not believe we should discuss it?

Hmmmm. Now let's think this through shall we? People email the admin moderator asking what happened to FR yesterday. Instead of responding to thousands of individuals the AM makes it easy by posting a thread explaining the down time. That wasn't so difficult was it?

This is a legit vanity. I would be curious to know what happened myself. Saying “absolutely, positively NO VANITY POSTS!” just doesn’t feel right. If we don’t like vanities we don’t have to read or respond to them.

Thanks for posting the thread, especially considering the admins neglected to post a thread with why we were down. Some of us have been monthly donors for years and I think an explanation of what happened would be nice.

The title of the thread is "What Happened Yesterday?" Not one post has been able to answer this question. What have you learned from the replies why the site was down? A simple email to the AM by many people may prompt a post with the information that obviously no one else knows. Instead you get a bunch of non responsive posts.

Get a grip. the election is over, tha vanities wiil decrease. It would help to know what happened.
