What a part of my life

It has been a long strange trip.
Jim must really have quite the bird’s eye view.
I was really sorry I never made to the Freeper Balls. Kids and stuff. It looked like such fun.

I get to call you that because I’m a fellow member of the Class of ‘98.
What a ten years it has been! For most of us, we were drawn to FR because of the ongoing crimes of the Clinton Administration. We helped to get the House to impeach Clinton.FR kept us sane through the Senate(fake) trial in 1999 and the election of 2000.
Then came 9/11/01,the anthrax attacks, and the military actions in Afghanistan and Iraq.FR was the place to be to get the news.
Then came the threat of a traitor becoming President in 2004, the Swifties sailing into action, and the Texas ANG letter pushed by Dan Rather, that our very own Buckhead debunked.
Now we have a radical Marxist as President-elect and a certifiable idiot as Vice President-elect.
A Freeper’s work is NEVER done.
Here’s to another ten years for you!

It seems that trolls are usually pretty easy to see.
I agree that good people are going to surface in many ways;
including through FR.

Years ago I remember a thread that turned to the subject of apple pie and we had a talk about this abstact apple pie. It was the first time in my life I had ever sat down with dozens of people and talked about the pie and gave each other pieces.

I clicked on a Drudge headline the morning the intern story broke on ABC and it was a link to the "White Water" site (AKA, Free Republic). I literally lived on FR throughout impeachment summer. I remember telling my kids that we were watching history being made, minute by minute. I routinely lurked for hours every day but I was chicken to register because I was certain that the Clinton dirt machine could uncover posters' identities and sic the IRS on them.
I finally felt safe to register after Al Gore conceded for real. But registered or not, I've been a freeper since 1-21-98.

I lurked during this time. It was so refreshing to have this place to go and read what I was thinking. And new fresh ideas.
Trolls have always been there but the elections bring out new FR activists too.
Trolls are a waste of time. But we work around them
