(Mod Append, Full Quote)
In all, with Barack Obamas promises to cut taxes, merit pay for public school teachers, and renewed offshore drilling, I would say he simply ran the most successful moderate Republican presidential campaign since Dwight Eisenhower.
In reflection, what has changed since 2004 is not the national philosophy, but the national mood. President-elect Obama leads a center-left party, but he must now govern a center-right nation.
“In all, with Barack Obamas promises to cut taxes, merit pay for public school teachers, and renewed offshore drilling, I would say he simply ran the most successful moderate Republican presidential campaign since Dwight Eisenhower.”
I confess, I didn’t read the whole article, but I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he probably said that BHO ran as a moderate Republican rather than is a moderate.
I think you missed his point completely... he was implying that Obama masked his liberal agenda and only talked about things like ‘tax cuts, drilling, etc’.. IE, he was trying to say that the Country really does want Conservative values, so much that Obama had to use them..
HI NEWBIE!!! Are you a TROLL, maybe??
Rush even said almost the exact same thing a couple of times...
If that’s what he’s saying, then I totally missed the point. Maybe he should choose his words more carefully? Or maybe I’m just dense.
"In all, with Barack Obamas promises to cut taxes, merit pay for public school teachers, and renewed offshore drilling, I would say he simply ran the most successful moderate Republican presidential campaign since Dwight Eisenhower."
Its actually a little dig at Obama.
Robert M. “Mike” Duncan needs to go!
He obviously has no sense of reality.
Bring on Newt!
See #4 & #10, the OP completely missed Duncan’s point..
If Newt is serious the chairman’s on his way out anyway. The RNC would have to be crazy not to take Newt if he really wants it.
It’s a nice way of saying that McCain ran a crappy campaign from the start. BHO flooded the field to get where he got: First taking out Hillary and then finishing with McCain. Liberals and Socialists know that they cannot win at the ballot box as such, so they have to mask and camouflage themselves to trick the voters into thinking they are what they’re not. To put it into perspective, Obama is more liberal that Teddy Kennedy.
Can’t add his name to the list... I just took my name off.
I am now an INDEPENDENT CONSERVATIVE!!
As for Mr. Duncan, I’ve offered him a list of AA Meetings, as he’s been Nipping a Bit too Much.
A “moderate Republican” who wants to redistribute wealth, raise taxes, bankrupt coal-burning facilities through government penalties, disarm the military, deny medical attention to infants who survive botched abortions, nationalize healthcare, squelch the voice of dissent through Orwellian laws, etc., etc., etc.
But, as recently as a few days ago, I got e-mails from the RNC telling me how bad Obama would be for America.
This nimrod needs to go. No wonder we got stomped.
exactly. We need another conservative crack up. Let us never forget the mistakes of “Big Government New Tone Beltway Cocktail Party Milquetoastianism”
Huh... I think maybe we found the problem...
WHAT?
Newt a few months ago was MAKING GLOBAL WARMING COMMERCIALS WITH NANCY PELOSI!
No way on Newt....we need new blood.
In fairness, he may be being facetious and/or trying to hold Obama to the few conservative promises he made, with no intention of keeping.
What a Basshole Duncan really is! and this quote sure proves it in Spades! I’m sure even more PROUD of my two autographed Sarah Palin “Balls” than I ever thought I could be. Its turning out, they are more than the Campaign Managers had between all of them totalled UP! Include Ducan in that totalization as well!
YEA!!! SARAH!! COGRATULATIONS SARAH PALIN FROM ALL OF US, REAL REPUBLICANS!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, SARAH!!
