I don't post vanities, but I'll make an exception today. It is simply amazing and disheartening that we have elected a socialistic, unaccomplished, inexperienced and unethical person as our next president. Our nation has survived many challenges over the years, but I have to wonder if this country will even be recognizable after 4 years of Obama, Pelosi and Reid.
In 4 years we will have:
one of the mot heavily taxed nations in the world;
an economy crippled by new environmental regulations;
skyrocketing energy costs;
greater dependence on foreign energy;
major portions of our economy nationalized;
free speech curtailed under the "Fairness Doctrine";
unions controlling our workplace through the "Employee Free Choice Act";
abortions skyrocketing under the "Freedom of Choice Act";
gay marriage legal across the country after repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act;
a downsized and demoralized military ala the Carter era;
chaos and instability in the Middle East;
increased terrorism around the world and here at home;
amnesty for illegals and reparations for blacks;
provisions written into law legalizing the kind of voter fraud perpetrated by Acorn and associated groups in this election;
and other changes made to insure a permanent Democrat majority in Congress and control of the Judiciary.
Can anyone argue with my vision?
We should create a forum for losers.
I don't reply to vanities.
nope, none here but do not forget RKBA issues in a hussein administration.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.
Samuel Adams
Your right on! I don’t believe that Premier Obama will veto anything that Pelosi and Reid sent to his desk. Both of them are socialist and believe in higher taxes and entitlements for the poor. They hate America and will do all in their power to pull the troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan! They will make all the illegal aliens citizens!
...that you need to drop the cynical and pessimistic attitude
...keep fighting the good fight to preserve freedom and conservatism
and if you're not right with God, get right with God and start praying like you never prayed before.
Depression is seeing only the bad things, and not wanting to see the good things that one is surrounded with.
Even with Obama, the country is wonderful.
That doesn’t mean that we have to accept leftist crap! let’s start writing letters, sending email and making phone calls.
The bastards can’t ignore all of us.
You neglected to mention “gun control”.
They will do it in little pieces, using a strategy of divide and conquer among gun owners. We will hear the old “why does someone need an “AK-47” to hunt a dear”.
All I can say is buy as soon as you can. I will be spending thousands. The last time they did it, I was young, didn’t follow politics, and didn’t see it coming. Not this time!
I can. You stated upfront...In 4 years we will have:
You are so naive. It will be in 2 years. Or less.
Surrender?
NUTS!
It's going to be far, far worse than anything you put down on that list. It'll make Cuba seem like the French Riviera in comparison.
Agreed. It's over. The great American experiment has failed.
We are proof that, left to their own devices, the populace will eventually 1) turn elections into an American Idol idiocy; and 2) vote for the government to take care of them from cradle to grave, thus abrogating the responsibilities of citizenship.
Yeah, it ain’t going to be all that bad. The dems will nudge us left some but we have been going right too long and we need an adjustment back toward common sense. My biggest fear is that O will be so deadlocked up he can’t do anything like raise the minimum wage or get us on nat’l health care.
parsy, who wonders why if the cheese-eating surrender monkeys can accomplish nat’l health care, we can’t?
Wanna bet?
Come on guys lets be that frog that is half way down the birds throat with his hands are choking the sh*t out of the bird.I will fight for what I love and will never surrender too anyone.Much better men than myself have fought and died for this country I’ll fight in my own way to honor them.
The fall of America dates from democrats opening the floodgates to massive LEGAL immigration in the 1960s.
Overpopulation and freedom cannot exist together.
Like Americans didn’t abrogate their rights as citizens when they let the gov’t subsidize all the under paid workers so that the Wal-marts and McDonalds didn’t have to? Or when we shipped jobs overseas for a tax credit. Or, I could on and on.
parsy, who gets bill collection calls from guys in Calcutta.
I don’t argue with your vision.
It has happened before. And we survived, although probably not in a form recognizable by the Founding Fathers.
Here’s a thread that has a long, but very important booklet called “The Revolution Was” about FDR and the New Deal, by conservative Garet Garrett (1938). Lots of parallels to today with Obama and the coming Dark Years.

Here’s an excerpt:
So it was that a revolution took place within the form. Like the hagfish, the New Deal entered the old form and devoured its meaning from within. The revolutionaries were inside; the defenders were outside. A government that had been supported by the people and so controlled by the people became one that supported the people and so controlled them. Much of it is irreversible. That is true because habits of dependence are much easier to form than to break. Once the government, on ground of public policy, has assumed the responsibility to provide people with buying power when they are in want of it, or when they are unable to provide themselves with enough of it, according to a minimum proclaimed by government, it will never be the same again.
All of this is said by one who believes that people have an absolute right to any form of government they like, even to an American Welfare state, with status in place of freedom, if that is what they want. The first of all objections to the New Deal is neither political nor economic. It is moral.
