Time for a major Third Party to form: Sarah Palin to lead it

Posted on 11/04/2008 9:27:06 PM PST by Cedar

The GOP has too many RINO's. It's time for a true conservative major party to form.

Sarah Palin can be the candidate in 2012. She is the only one who has a strong enough following to form another major political party.

Sorry, Social Conservatives, but you caused us to lose.

You appear to be basing this entirely on anecdotal information. The available statistical information indicates that you are mistaken. This is the tragedy of libertarians, an inability to get along with their only possible allies for economic liberty because of an insistence on a libertine social policy.

I am all for it! We need a viable third party and Sarah Palin is a great leader. The Republican party has lost its way.

Our house has more than a roof leak and our car has pretty much been totaled.

I live "socially conservative". I don't need a government to tell me to do this. This is the very essence of being a libertarian.

As a Country, we have lost our Principles. We've lost that feral desire to be free and to live our lives for our selves and to our own ends without having to destroy others to get there.

Until THAT attitude changes, or someone comes along to change it, then no amount of re-shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic will keep us afloat.

Well, that’s what we just did. Here in NC we again elected a Dem governor when no one liked our last one! And Dole lost to a newcomer Dem. And Nobama won NC. I don’t see a down-side to a new conservative party.

I agree that Palin and the Evangelicals should start a third party - after last nite, I want back the party of Lincoln, Eisenhower, Reagan. The social (religious conservatives) have hijacked our party and frankly, there is no doubt this country was afraid of going to far right. So yes, take Sarah and Bachman, we’ll keep Ridge/Giuliani/Thompson/McCain/Hagel/Graham and Pawlenty and we’ll bounce back.

Exactly. You can keep your liberal republicans. We’re tired of them not standing up for what is morally right, and, thereby, helping to move this country further left with no morals.

Time for a new party.

We obviously don’t live in the same house house. You need to move.

Agree with you %100 my friend. As soon as a lot of people heard the religious right jumped on board they jumped overboard. religion and politics don’t mix in my book.

Speaking of losers, looks like the GOP was the big one again this time (also 2006).

I feel sorry for you.

You're so miffed that we looked to a Godly woman like Governor Palin to give us hope for a win ...

..you fail to see those of us..now.. who would give your party a second look...

I believe you're enjoying your 'I told you so' moment too much.

Like I said, if you really wanted to change hearts and minds, you would be gracious and grab the momentum....

..sadly, you won't.

Governor Palin, no matter her personal attributes, could not possibly have “given you a win.” She was running with John McCain. And I won’t ignore the fact that she ran with him on a platform of global warming, trillion dollar takeovers of our financial system, embryonic stem cell research, states’ rights trumping the unalienable right to life, judicial supremacy, etc. If that’s “ungracious” on my part, so be it. But in my opinion, it’s simply factual.

Now that the mods have left and a bunch of people were voted out of office, is there anything really left of the GOP?

It’s ripe for rebuilding cause all the moderates are gone for the most part

Agree. The GOP is gutted. Most who voted for McCain were either voting against Obama and/or giving a confidence vote to Gov Palin. I doubt any of us actually wanted McCain. I'd like to see him voted out of the senate next time.

Let's rebuild. Same logo - a new generation of conservatives. Time to launch the Reagan babies.

Well, since we started in June, we’ve managed to make America’s Independent Party into the third-largest national party based on voter registration. Our largest affiliate, California’s American Independent Party, grew in terms of actual registrations more than 11% in the last month the state reported on.

The door’s open to you, pissant.
