I paid nearly $40 to overnight my absentee ballot to Colorado

To guarantee that my vote would be received in time, I had to overnight my absentee ballot to Colorado. So I paid $39.39 (seriously) to overnight my vote for John McCain and Sarah Palin to Denver.

I got my ballot late because I made a mistake on the request I sent in weeks ago.

Anyway, it wasn't fun to fork over that money, but I felt I had to do it, especially because Colorado is a swing state.

I also checked with Purolator/FedEx, but it was the same. There’s a big surcharge for fuel now.
