To guarantee that my vote would be received in time, I had to overnight my absentee ballot to Colorado. So I paid $39.39 (seriously) to overnight my vote for John McCain and Sarah Palin to Denver.
I got my ballot late because I made a mistake on the request I sent in weeks ago.
Anyway, it wasn't fun to fork over that money, but I felt I had to do it, especially because Colorado is a swing state.
I just wanted to share with fellow FReepers. :)
Bless your heart...
YOU are a great American!!
Thank you!
:) Thank you.
I have never missed an election and I certainly wasn’t going to start now, not when it’s so important.
*blushes*
I don’t know about that, but thank you. :).
Thank you for doing the right thing for your country.....
Thank you!
Great! Did you get delivery confirmation?
You will never regret that kind of devotion to doing the right thing for you country. You have my respect regardless of how things turn out.
Thank you. :)
I like your tagline, NetSurfer. :)
Thank you. That’s the only poll that actually counts. ;o)
You set a great example about the value of democracy. I wonder how much of the electorate would spend $40 to vote, or what kind of leadership we would have if we all had to pay that much in order to vote.
Good on you. I sent mine in certified. It really is that important.
Good for you. I’m in CO. Let’s win this thing!
Thank you! It’s Americans like you that will bring home the win for McCain-Palin.
That’s the difference between McP supporters and BO supporters. BO people need to be bribed with concerts and trinkets. We just do what’s right — even if it costs a bit.
Great to see someone who takes the right that so many have paid the ultimate sacrifice for with the seriousness it deserves!
Thanks again, and I have a bit of good news—
I just chatted with two retired men from New York City who live here. They are diehard Dems and diehard Hillary supporters. They cannot stand Obama and are upset he didn’t pick her as VP.
I was shocked to learn that they voted for McCain/Palin. They are also upset about the media’s treatment of Sarah Palin and her family; they said, “Obama’s mother was unmarried and a teen mom. This hasn’t been fair.”
I really thought that was amazing, and it gives me hope.
I can only imagine how an Obama win will affect the troops' morale.
