I see the same thing in Georgia. Local Atlanta fishwrap keeps boasting about long lines in black precincts. They don't mention the quieter but more numerous resolve of the suburbs and rest of Georgia to keep Obama out.
McCain voters may not be enthusiastic but they are determined. And they will be there on 11/4.

You are right that the drive-bys are out of touch with people outside the beltway and NYC. I told George Will that yesterday when I went after him on his column for being out of touch with flyover country.
