I listen on Marissa’s computer. She is still on Windows. I have Musicmatch Jakebox installed on her computer; it opens in a small window.
I’m not sure how Vista handles music links. To listen to music on my computer, it has to be downloaded before I can play it. I just play any music on Marissa’s pc.
William Shakespeare
SONNET 115
These lines that I before have writ do lie,
Even those that said I could not love you dearer:
Yet then my judgment knew no reason why
My most full flame should afterwards burn clearer.
But reckoning time, whose million’d accidents
Creep in ‘twixt vows and change decrees of kings,
Tan sacred beauty, blunt the sharp’st intents,
Divert strong minds to the course of altering things;
Alas, why, fearing of time's tyranny,
Might I not then say ‘Now I love you best,’
When I was certain o'er incertainty,
Crowning the present, doubting of the rest?
Love is a babe; then might I not say so,
To give full growth to that which still doth grow?
Thanks, Yorkie.
Happy “Coping With Uncertainty Day”!
Thank you Amy!
After seeing your opening post, I listened to some “goodbye” songs: A Bad Goodbye - Clint Black and Wynona Judd; If I Had Only Known - Reba McEntire; Last Goodbye - Jeff Buckley; I Love You Goodbye - Celine Dion.
I thought of all the people in California who are homeless this morning, having to say goodbye to their pasts and treasured belongings, and am so greatful for what I have. Prayers for all the souls affected by these horrible fires.
Thank you for your introspect.
I still enjoy putting music and graphics together and will continue. Stay tuned for tomorrow. LOL
I think it is wonderful that all four of you enjoy the get aways together. I bet the ocean is really nice this time of year. I do not like beaches in the hot summertime!
While hiking, daydreams are extra nice!
Velt of Dreams
I dream, therefore I exist in that other place
wherein only fantasy sets to ride at my pace
and creatures great and small, come to my call
and in the end, good triumphs, and evil has to fall
Winds sing my praises, in tales embellished so bold
amid the cheers of timeless youth and ancient old
I ride to glory with head held high, where no one dies
and we play the game tomorrow, beyond dusk’s soft sigh
Yes, that “rundown piece of real estate” is the perfect graphic! Thanks for all the work you do, Billie!
Less than 48 hours after I last signed off, so much has happened!!
Thank your for your responses and concern all. (((LUV W))), your post on Saturday was the last I saw before signing off and honestly, I believe your wish was a prayer. In spite of the heavy smokiness and ash over all of L.A., I did not get sick from it!!! Thank you.
(((Lady Jag))), how strange is it that your power went out?! I wonder why that happened in your area, is it common?
We were warned we might have power outages yesterday, but PRAISE GOD, we didn’t. It went off for less than a minute only once yesterday.
(((Yorkie))), how are your family members in Northridge doing? I believe the fires stayed well away from them.
The fires stayed away from L.A. proper, but by Saturday night/Sunday morning, we were surrounded by nearly countless fires. Our air/sky yesterday was brownish-yellow and the smoke smell was strong. I stayed indoors with windows and door closed, fans going strong. This worked very well. In addition, NASCAR was on most afternoon to keep me distracted.
Today, the horizon air is brown all around but directly above, the sky is blue, still bad air quality. The cars and the ground are covered with ash.
The bad news is that so many lost their homes, especially up at the trailer park in Sylmar where hundreds of homes burned to the ground and residents have only 10 minutes each today to recover what they can.
I have not heard of any firefighter fatalities, but 5 were injured, don’t know how badly. Your prayers and thoughts of concern for all affected, I’m sure are heard and very welcome.
It’s nice to see you and your choice of “button,” LOL, Oesy:-).
Autumn is the best time for mountain hikes and beach walks!! I totally agree!!
(((Just Amy))) and Mr. J.A., congratulations on your wedding anniversary. Many happy returns of the day!!
Nice welcome post yesterday, (((MEG))).
The Oklahoma rose is one of my very favorites. It is a deep, rich red.
I won’t get caught up on thread, but enjoying viewing everything and responding randomly:-).
ConorMacNessa, we were talking awhile ago about family members who served in the military. I found out my cousin Virgil was there at Normandy. I talked with him by phone this morning (his son’s home was in the path of the fire but blessedly saved), and will learn more in person soon of his WWII experiences.
You betcha many of us will, yet when viewing some recent photos of President Bush, he looks very ready to relinquish the job.
