A passenger jet bound for Heathrow Airport had a near miss with a UFO, Ministry of Defence files reveal. The captain of the Alitalia airliner shouted "Look out" to his co-pilot at the sight of a brown missile-shaped object shooting past them overhead...Nineteen files covering sightings between 1986 and 1992 are being made available online.

It's a water drop from condensation on the camera port. Those close in views of Google Earth are not from satellites, they're aerial survey photographs taken from...wait for it...aircraft. As such, they tend to have to deal with the atmosphere and all the things in it.
That is why you can get very nice closeup shots of your house if you live in a city or suburb, but Kansas wheatfields are fuzzy blurs at the same magnification. Those shots are from Landsat.
The FAA really needs to prioritize, and develop improved systems to present these UFO near misses.
Not accounting for UFO-caused accidents is just another clear example of the Bush Administrations laisse-faire attitude with regard to the safety of the American people.

This UFO stuff is all a bunch of crap. Any species intelligent enough to have interstellar travel will also be able to avoid being seen by our relatively primative technology.
