I think we would be better off trying to train dolphins to speak English.

Just put a screen underwater. Show a picture of Bob. Have the speakers say the word “Bob”. Do it with half a dozen people.

Then just show the picture. See if it says anything that could be interpreted as “Bob”. (or “dog” or “train” or whatever)

This would be an interesting experiment. I’ll bet a smart tenth grader could pull it off. Well, a tenth grader who has some dolphins laying around.
