My wonderful DH and I have been married 5.5 years. He is currently deployed to Iraq, so I decided to take inventory and straighten out his dresser drawers, plus the drawers in the closet. (With his blessing and permission, mind you.)
He has socks in 4 different drawers. He has over 80 pairs of socks. Most of his socks are black (work) or white (non-work), with a very few pair of other colors.
Ummm.... is this normal? Socks in 4 different drawers? Over 80 pairs? Or am I just married to a guy who loves his socks?
Molly
I have about 40 pair. Would have more if I had the room in my drawers. All are white athletic socks as I wear cowboy boots every day. A nice solution for that missing black sock disease that I used to have.
Be afraid...be very afraid.
If he’s got 80 pair in drawers, whatever you do ...
do not look behind the dryer! We found enough there
to make a great jail-break rope. ;o)
My husband never takes his socks off.
Blasphemy!
I am covering my ears...LALALALALALALALALALA...I can't hear you.
Designated Hitter..... silly? dont you know anything?
I don’t understand why she bring it up here though... and the sock too- when they’re dirty you need some more. But what does THAT have to do with baseball either???
Don’t wimmins know anything?
Ok, without getting too personal, I buy most my husband's socks, and am constantly confused about what to buy. Sounds like you really love the brand you have so wonder if you'd share that information with me? Would love to find a really good reliable brand that stays put. Thanks!
You have married a wise, yet lazy man. If you buy socks in large numbers and only two contrasting colors, you can always find a matching pair even if you lose a bunch. You are never in danger of wearing one color on the left and another on the right.
You must at all costs prevent Allegra from learning your DH's unit, not to mention his name. Otherwise we may find, hidden in dark corners like "News of the Weird," strange stories about Middle Eastern sock theft .... and soon, you'll have the news accounts from Dubai, revealing all of the sordid hosiery-related details of their arrest.
;^)
Well they aren’t stinky in the drawer, those are the clean ones. The stinky ones are in the hamper, or somewhere in the neighborhood of the hamper... same floor anyway. I have enough socks and undies to make 1 entire load each, I don’t actually know how many that is but it must be a lot since socks and undies are small. I don’t have any wool socks, I live in the desert, sweat enough as already, I don’t think I own any wool anything, I’m not even sure I know what it looks like.
I have a lot of socks, but that many seems unusual. I have some I keep in a separate drawer, which are heavy winter socks (the kind you get at outdoors stores.) When those are in season, the thin summerweight socks go to the extra drawer.
My sock superstitions are not to be messed with! I’d much rather skip the beer than have a broken leg again. And trust me, I do not like to skip the beer. Some things are not to be efffed with, ever.
Lets see. Black socks and white socks only. Spread about in two different drawers and probably in various laundry baskets. Lost count of pairs, but probably about 20 or 30. Throw in a few pair of wool socks and sounds pretty normal to me.
A man doesn't know when civilization will end, and socks will be worth their weight in toilet paper.
I can’t help you with your sock issue, but I am posting for one reason only; to say how grateful I am to you and your DH for your service to our country. I will keep you in my prayers! Godspeed!
I used to buy gold toe from JC Pennys. My recent batch have been cheaper Hanes crews.
I’ll probably go back to the gold toe. All are not created equal. The gold toe black dress socks I was getting from JCP had a very nice cushioned sole. These made your feet smile when you put them on in the morning. Some I ordered online from somewhere else did not have this nice cushioning.
Its an indication of a smart guy. He buys a dozen pairs of the same size and color and throws them in one or two drawers. When one sock is lost of develops a hole, throw it away because its mate matches the rest of the pile.
