I live in one of the most Republican areas of Missouri. I went out to get the Sunday paper and saw many Obama signs. I didn’t see any McCain signs.

I don’t believe the election can be predicted until a week or two before election day but if McCain don’t win my part of the state in a normal percentage or higher for the Republican candidate then he loses Missouri. He loses Missouri most likely he loses the election.

The polls isn’t scaring me it is the behavior of my neighbors.

There is no doubt in my mind that the media commissions those "registered voter" polls in order to show things in a pro-Democrat slant. At least I can't come with another reason to continually commission polls that are known to be inaccurate.

However, to say that the "likely voter" polls are deliberately biased is to say that capitalism doesn't work. These companies have every reason to make the polls as accurate as they can be; if they are consistently less accurate than their competitors, they lose business. The fact is, the polls are against McCain now because McCain isn't doing very well.

IMHO, this is a direct result of the "win at any costs, even if it means abandoning our principles" strategy that we have been pursuing since Bush 1. We elect candidates that are farther and farther from our core principles, and then when they screw up we fail to defend them. Contrast this with the Democraps who are electing candidates farther and farther to the left, and won't admit they are wrong in ANY circumstance.

Bush is the ultimate example of this. His administration is a complete and utter failure with the exception that they have somehow prevented a follow-up attack since 9/11 (but look for that to end as soon as Obama is in office). And look where it has left us. Now we have an even bigger RINO running for President on a campaign of "I'm not a real Republican", and even many die-hard conservatives don't have it in them to stand up and defend Bush.

The sad thing is, this market collapse is going to be blamed on Bush. If it had happened 6 months from now, we could have ridden it to a complete route of Congressional Democrats. As it is, we are going to get more socialism.

Folks, we are in for at least 4 years (and probably more like 12) of really hard times. We'd best learn the lessons of this election well, and be ready to nominate a REAL conservative in 2012.

The media is the battle field. We have to go to their sites and carry the flag. I may have gone too far the other day when I told some liberal smuck to get his face out of Barney Franks crotch, ;) but we have to show we can beat them on every level. As they said in Team America ...

Change British Empire to the United States of America and Churchill’s words still ring true to me.

what is our aim?

I can answer in one word: It is victory, victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory, however long and hard the road may be; for without victory, there is no survival. Let that be realised; no survival for the British Empire, no survival for all that the British Empire has stood for, no survival for the urge and impulse of the ages, that mankind will move forward towards its goal. But I take up my task with buoyancy and hope. I feel sure that our cause will not be suffered to fail among men. At this time I feel entitled to claim the aid of all, and I say, “come then, let us go forward together with our united strength.”

My McCanin/Palin keep the faith and not falter this fight is too important.

I’m with you. I’m almost to the point of completely logging off of FR until after the election.

I’m tired of the vanities from those who are angry and/or unhappy with McCain because he won’t run his campaign the way they personally believe he should run it.

I’m tired of poll results being posted every ten minutes as though they actually mean something.

I’m tired of having to sort through threads of gloom and doom based on the above two points.

Thank goodness for PJ’s DUmmie FUnnies and the Undead Thread; but for those, I’d log off for good.

Outstanding post! Count me in as one of those who will not surrender and who does not believe the media lies. This is the best vanity I have seen on here in a long time and reflects what we have been saying on the threads.

Some of this hand wringing and throwing in the towel has made me wonder if the posters are really who they claim because conservatives I know are fighters and not people to throw in the towel over what the media is saying. Throw in the fact a lot of us are broken glass Republicans that don't give in and you are left with 3rd Party types who would never support McCain or any Republican that love to get on threads to demoralize people, trolls, and a few of those from a couple of campaigns that don't want a McCain win.

Who is supporting Senator McCain? Those of us that put our differences aside and put America First and understand the ramifications of an Obama Presidency on our free speech and wallets.

Point well taken. The Obama crowd didn’t sit back as they were told that Hillary! was the inevitable candidate. They rolled up their sleeves and got to work.

A lot of the posters you refer to are sleeper trolls who have signed up sometime ago and may even be a situation where hundreds were signed up years ago amd are only used during the election cycle.

Every day I have to post on threads that the polls are over sampling democrats and blacks. I am constantly seeing posters who’s signup date goes back years and they are posting crap. Some of these old names I don’t recall ever seeing before.

Everyone should understand that there are Leftist trolls on this site with signup dates going back years.

And then there are FReepers who don’t believe the lies of the media, the Democrats, or the Republicans.

I know we’re scarce these days, but we do exist.

This country can’t and won’t survive even four years of an Obamanation administration. We have to keep Obama from winning at all costs. We have no choice. Half of the country does not want communism, which is exactly what Obama will be installing as a form of government. Half of the country also doesn’t want gun control or late-term abortions. There is no way that our half of the country will survive under Obama and the socialists. America will cease to be a free nation if we don’t act now and prevent this travesty.

We should have never let the leftists take over our mainstream media in the first place. We should never have allowed them to indoctrinate our children in public schools for DECADES now either. When the hell are we, the people, the non-socialist people, going to wake up and do something, instead of just talk about it?

Someone has to crush the love affair the media has with Obama and get on with the truth.

Acorn= Fannie Mae, Sallie Mae & Freddie Mac= buyout of sub prime loans= Democrats= largest financial disaster since the great depression.

It is amazing. Normally Freepers believe nothing the propaganda press says. Yet they suddenly are convinced by polls spit out by the same liars in the media. That’s a glaring cognitive disconnect.

Every election the MSM pulls the same crap. Same scenario. Same goofy polls. The liars did it for President Gore, President Kerry and are trying again with President Nobama.

These people marching in the gloom and doom parades here on FR need to make a pot a coffee, buy a jelly doughnut, take a break and reconnect their brain neurons.

I could not agree more. The polls are so misleading that I can’t imaging putting any faith at all in them. They oversample both blacks and democRAT voters. Can you imagine how far ahead even a lame candidate like McCain would be if the media wasn’t carrying his water?

I totally agree with this post.

Let me try and explain why so many of the people on this forum are affected by the lies of the MSM. For one, it directly affects our moral. And if the media report something we know is not true we understand that there are millions out there who will believe it. And if our moral is affected by these lies for a variety of reasons. How do you think those people out there who believe these lies feel?

I’ve noticed how the media try and create narratives. For instance, the angry white McCain supporter.

You’ve heard the reports of people at McCain rallies calling Obama a “terrorist” and saying “off with their heads.”

First, how do we know these are McCain supporters and not Obama plants. And second, how do we know, if true, at the same thing doesn’t happen at Obama rallies?

It only takes one reporter to overhear someone say something they find newsworthy. It does not have to have any substance or context if that one statement can be used in a narrative the media constructs if that statement or word is useful to them.

So you have millions of McCain supporters hear over and over again on television and in print that his rallies are producing angry white supporters who hate Obama.

How demoralizing is it to have McCain himself come out and say calm down? Basically accepting the medias narrative of his supporters being angry white Obama haters.

And then you have people like Bill Kristol on television agreeing with the media along with McCain.

If you were to design a flow chart of McCain’s message and the press’s reporting on that message. You’d see a direct correlation of one to the other. That being McCain’s message tends to piggy back on what the media thinks of his message. The same media who are trying to destroy him mind you.

So you see, McCain tailors his message to what, the very same press that hates him and wants him to loose, wants.

If the press was reporting on how respectful a campaign McCain was running you’d know he was loosing.

It’s always fascinated to me when the very same people who are against John McCain and want him to loose give him advise as if they are looking out for his best interest.

If the things he’s doing are so bad for his chances of winning, and will hurt him come election day. Why would they tell him? Shouldn’t they just shut up and let him self destruct?

That’s the question you need to ask.
