Just wondering how FReepers are reacting to the debate. I didn't see a thread devoted to the second debate.
(Excerpt) Read more at msnbc.msn.com ...
Watching it now; McCain finally is hitting Obama on Fannie/Freddie.
“there were others who just took a hike.” -mccain, referring to F&F while looking at obama. (hint of more to come?)
The fix is in. IT’s obvious McCain doesn’t want to win. He had an opportunity right up front to bring up Raines and company but he passed. Then he said a man who supports Obama would make a good treasury secretary. It’s painful to watch.
I’m back to believing there’s a shadow government who picks the president. How else could you explain this crap?
The average American doesn’t have the faintest idea what Fannie or Freddie is. Sounds like cartoon characters. If this debate turns into wonkishness, Obama wins.
It’s awful. McCain looks weak. Obama looks like the cat that swallowed the canary.
I started one but it was pulled...
Guess they just want one thread going.
McCain is not hitting back. He’s blowing his last chance.
IT IS OVER!!!!!!!
I just can’t watch. I’ll follow it here. Doesn’t sound good.
Obama keeps saying there’s plenty of blame to go around, but it’s really the failed economic policies of the past 8 years...deregulation...that caused the mess. All Bush’s fault.
weren’t we told that mccain excels in a “town forum” style debate? well, i’m still waiting for him to hit average.
McCain seems a little uptight or nervous. His ability to communicate the problem as compared with Obama is a little stark in contrast up to this point
McCain has GOT to go for the jugular. Nothing yet. Too laid back. Just said “reach across the aisle”. dead meat.
It was all ok until 2 years ago when the Dem’s took over Congress...

Remind me which of these candidates is the Republican. McCain is going to bail out the homeowners and appoint Warren Buffet as Treasury Secretary. Wow, he’s really “mavericky”.
Painful. He deserves to lose. It’s too bad he didn’t follow his campaign motto and put “country first”. He should change his banner to “bipartisan first”.
Per Yogi Berra - It ain’t over till it’s over. A lot can happen in the next few weeks.
