The one in Huntsville, AL was a sleazy dealership, IIRC - always in trouble over unethical practices.
I’ve seen comments on other forums that these guys were as sharky as car salesmen get.
Sounds like it came back to bite them.
I call BS on the articles story for closing, if you google articles, they had some serious legal issues, the Columbus Ga store so harassed a lady buyer in the sales office she had a heart attack and died, talk about a hard sell. They twice issued forged recall notices in two different areas in the country and billed GM for the fake recalls, and the owner faces jail time and is trying to sell his house for 15 million in middle GA, to get out of debt for legal problems.
Well, it says GMAC pulled their floorplanning....so that is the end.
Sad, but Darwinian. Modern America can be adequately served efficiently by a far fewer number of new-car dealers.
Wow, we have a couple in Central Florida. We already had one Chevy dealership (Palm Bay) forced to close because of bad business practices. The ones who will get hurt in all this are the MSM!!! No more TV ads, no more print ads from Bill Heard.
Maybe we should ask the feds to bail them out...
Shhhhhhhhhh, someone just might.
The article had the spokeswoman decrying gas costs, suvs, and lower sales,etc.. Bill Heard has been staggering mostly due to legal problems and fines imposed in practically all the states they were business in. GMAC(GM currently owns all GMAC equity) pulling them had to do with getting all those fake recall bills.GM wasn’t their only brand.
Yeah, they were crappy, but they were big.
I’m sure Autonation is rejoicing.
self ping for after the Mark Levin thread....I know the real story here
Do I need to put a '/s' after that?
Don’t feel sorry for this man. He’s got a bad rep here in Florida. He had a 50 Million Dollar Deceptive Advertising Lawsuit filed against him. Florida fined him $400,000 .
People used to call 911 from the dealership feeling they were being cheated.
THIS THREAD NEEDS MORE BAILOUTS!
Karma (or in this case ‘Carma)
Bad business practices = no more business.
GMAC is actually majority-owned by Cerberus. Cerberus also majority owns Chrysler (and Chrysler Finance). Bad timing on those deals...
