““If you want to walk down memory lane with a coke, you CAN get Coca Cola made with real sugar around Passover (for my goyshe Freeper Friends, that would be around Easter time ;-) ), since HFCS is NOT kosher for Passover. “ Is this labeled in a distinctive way other than the kosher circle K or star K symbol? Is it in bottles only? I’ll look for it around that time. Thanks.” You don’t NEED to think you can get Coca Cola with sugar just at Passover.. here in Oregon.. any good Mexican grocery store has Pepsi and Coca Cola bottled in Mexico for sale here.. Heck.. I have seen the Coke bottles in Walmart over at Woodburn too. I find it Ironic.. Mexico exports Soft drinks that Americans have lost since 1985
No, you’re just a ‘Chocolate Gnatzie,’ LOL!
I don’t like Lindt Truffles, either. My homemade Truffles are awesome, though:
Diana’s Decadent Truffles
Makes 60 servings...or one if you don’t play well with others, LOL!
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
3 cups confectioners’ sugar, sifted
3 cups semisweet chocolate chips, melted
1 1/2 teaspoons dark rum (or real vanilla)
In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Gradually beat in confectioners’ sugar until well blended. Stir in melted chocolate and rum until no streaks remain. Refrigerate for about 1 hour. Shape into 1 inch balls.
Roll in cocoa powder, or powdered sugar, finely chopped nuts, chocolate jimmies, crushed candy canes, or make a chocolate ganache coating if you’re REALLY ambitious. ;)
Store in a covered Tupperware-like container. Four of these, each rolled in something different, wrapped in crinkly cello with a pretty bow make a nice gift for co-workers.
Wow, that sounds wonderful.
My truffle recipe always reminds me of this one:
Favorite Fruit Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
4 large eggs
2 cups dried fruit
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup brown sugar
lemon juice
nuts
bottle of whiskey
Procedure:
Sample the whiskey to check for quality. Take a large bowl. Check the whiskey again. To be sure it is the highest quality, pour one level cup and drink. Repeat.
Turn on the electric mixer, beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add one teaspoon of sugar and beat again. Make sure the whiskey is still okay. Cry another tup.
Turn off the mixer. Break two leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit. Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers pry it loose with a drewscriver. Sample the whiskey to check for tonsisticity.
Sift two cups of salt. Or something. Who cares? Check the whiskey.
Now sift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Spoon. Of sugar or something. Whatever you can find. Grease the oven. Turn the cake tin to 350 degrees. Don’t forget to beat off the turner. Throw the bowl out of the window, check the whiskey again and go to bed.
LOL! I’ll try that one first.
Of course we were only 1/4 our present size back then.
“Of course we were only 1/4 our present size back then.”
Not really, I reached my full height by 11 years old,
6’-0”.
Since then i’ve actually ahrunk 1/2”!
Well, it IS a Saturday night. But no posting while drunk; we’ve got enough of those around here already, LOL!
Now a days it's called MBA think. The Latins had a saying for it something about the buyer beware.
Hershey should eliminate the sand from its ingrediants. Chocolate should be creamy. ;-)
They might call their new formula cocoa product like cheese product.
I was thinking 40s prices.
I’ll even take the early 50s when I was in high school and paying 13.9 cents a gallon for gas!
Of course my street racing 40 coupe only got about 5 mpg.
Thanks for the recipes!
With the Hoildays approaching, it would be a good idea to give homemade food gifts this year.
Especially to Grandma and Grandpa! Hint-hint.
no cocoa butter NOT CHOCOLATE!
sad day for Hershey.
Do you mean call it [Hershey] "processed chocolate flavor"?
Good news! Green & Black’s chocolate is on sale this weeks at Whole Foods: $3./3.5oz
Easy!
You know that taffy stuff that comes in black and brown wrappers that kids get for Halloween and nobody eats?
So it sits in a bowl until the next Halloween and gets passed out to ther kids....
Sam’s choice is at Walmart and is Belgian and is very very good.
Hershey never made it to that level and has now apparently jumped the shark
