I’d say the most scary thing regarding (leading) journalists is that they are among the most well educated of us all while their prime mission is feeding all of us lies.
If it wasn’t for the European and American media, Americans and Europeans would today be the best of friends (and maybe I’m misguided about Russia of today because of how this nation is portrayed in Western media?).
Anyhow, while average Westerners of today are aware that Germans during the days of Hitler were brainwashed into believing whatever their media told them to be true, the very same, “enlightened” Westerners of today believe everything that established media report to be reliable information.
When European PC media decided to portray Al Gore as the Saviour of the Planet, few critical voices were heard and since then very little of scrutiny and debate has took place regarding Dalai Lama II.
Actually, a few years back there was a rash of articles extolling Gore as an intellectual giant, there was hardly an article written during that time that didn't gush about what enormous brainpower the man supposedly had.
My impression was that he was actually pretty dim. He didn't understand anything he was talking about, but since journalists understand even less than he, they assume he's a genius.
For anyone paying attention, they stood exposed for the intellectual midgets they were.
I don't know about European journalists, but American journalists are not the most educated; quite the contrary, they are the least educated.
Its not like they study Western Civilization, or history, or philosophy in any depth, and then take their post-grad in journalism. No, they study "journalism" itself for 4 years, while writing in the school newspaper. On that thin education they are then supposedly qualified to write the "first draft of history" and lecture the rest of us on things they know nothing about.
I hope euro journalists are at least a little better qualified. But it won't surprise me if they are not. And, as I say, education doesn't confer wisdom, sadly.
