Yep .... a long time ago but I do remember similar things.

He is in the Air Force, but he did his helicopter training
on his own outside the Air Force. He took out student loans
to get the training. (it’s very expensive!)

In the Air Force, you have to go through jet training in order
to fly helicopters. He did do this, but washed out because
of a herniated disk caused by flying the jet trainers, which
have no padding on the seats and cause lots of stress on the
back.

So....he wanted to fly so badly that he just went out and
did it! LOL!

I should be doing other things, but I became hopelessly distracted by a butterfly in the backyard, then a hummingbird came along. I couldn't help myself. I went in and got my camera and followed these two beauties around my lilac tree as they flitted from flower to flower.

I thought they were too pretty not to share with my friends as Amy's Place. A hummingbird and a butterfly competing for summer's last precious drops of nectar....

Now, I will go back to work, until some other irresistible thing grabs my attention. ;-)

I cannot tell you how beautiful the pictures are! Amazing...how lucky to get two beauties like that in a day! You are a great photographer.

By the way, I finallly got the pictures loaded on my third attemp. There was a step I was leaving out. I’m tired today for some reason. I haven’t been too busy because I didn’t want to be busy for a day. I owe it to myself. LOL!

Thanks for the compliments on my photos. I love my camera, and I love taking photos. These digital cameras make it so easy. Anyone can be a great photographer with just a little practice. :-)

Wonderful pictures, Lori. We used to see those butterflies all the time, but I hardly ever see them anymore. They are so pretty and that little hummer is so cute.
