I won't say your research is wrong but question your sources which aren't given and without which your work is worthless. Actually I wrote to you on March 4th of this year because you have an elusive ancestor pair of mine, and you never answered my email, still have what I wrote in my sent file. A fellow in my Plantagenet group was intrigued with your work and wrote to you as well; he does very well-sourced work and his site is on rootsweb as well. So is mine. Independently I researched one of your names I was interested in several generations back and came up with transcripts of source records that indicated your data was either wrong or there was a conflict.
If you have any credible sources, they are not on your site. Mostly only dates are given, and many are missing as I work it further back. There was another fellow I wrote to who mirrored your site which, I believe, has since been taken down.
The ancestors of mine you have on there are Samuel Perry and Hannah Watkins. They were my 4th gr grandparents. I know how to navigate that site in different ways but don't know how to calculate relationships from there. If I work a line back and enter it into my genealogy program, I can calculate relationships.
You must have just added Sarah Heath Palin as it shows you updated it just today [2008-08-31 02:33:52 UTC (Sun)].
If your work happens to be correct, I am related to her as we have common ancestors, Thomas Carter and Mary Parkhurst, several generations back making us roughly 6th cousins give or take.
Are you tdowling_53223? I think so. Rootsweb hasn't even indexed Sarah Heath b 1964 yet which is normal for a recent update.

Speaking of our cousin
Bill Gates, our next vice-president is his 9th cousin. I don't see a relationship for her to
Frank Zappa. It would seem that Moon Unit, Dweezil, Ahmet and Diva Muffin would get along great with Sarah's children Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper and Trig. ;-)

You've also got my Benjamin Newberry and Mary Allyn on there. I've worked the Newberry line way back to the 9th century, actually found the genealogy at ancestry.com worked by a professional genealogist, not on their world family tree, so shouldn't take credit for that work. He was the 1st Earl of Warwick. You don't have his pedigree, not that there is a problem about that, can't get everybody in there. I would share that with you, but it's already on rootsweb several places.
/Thomas NEWBERRY b: 10 NOV 1594 d: DEC 1635 Benjamin NEWBERRY b: 1624 d: 11 SEP 1689 | /Christopher DABINOTT b: 3 FEB 1562/63 d: JUL 1637 \Joan DABINOTT b: ABT 1600 d: ABT 1629 \Johanna b: 1564 d: AFT 1624
Well it's fun to play with so I thank you for that.

Yes, some of your more recent sources are posted, and I thought you might have much more in stacks of photocopies and papers/files offline, but it is just so much work to enter all that data in addition to all the names, dates and places and get them linked together properly. It's so late here, I'll have to look at it some more tomorrow, I switched out of gen mode for the summer and carry so much of it in my head in addition to my gen program, but if I don't work with it for awhile, I have to kind of refresh my memory and try to pick up where I left off.
Thank you for acknowledging my email. I thought you did say somewhere back then that you are sometimes too busy to answer emails. I figured with all that interesting info you must get deluged with people like me asking questions.
Sorry you were in the hospital. I will look at those names more closely. I'm just an amateur at this, and learned the hard way from my betters that I'd better be more careful about sourcing my information which I just copied and pasted early on. Now I try to be more careful, but have been informed that there are different categories of sources, like some old family notes of mine where I've hit a brick wall are just "clues", nothing more, wouldn't be accepted by professionals. Sometimes "clues" are all you get and are lucky to get those :-).
Nite. And thanks again. I am probably related to you, too lol. Not that I would wish that on anybody being related to me :-).
Oh that other guy who said he wrote you from the Plantagenet group is Kevin Bradford; he's got a lot more blue blood than I do :-). That's not why I got into this at all but you get so far back and start finding out things. I found out my sister is married to her 10th cousin. Lots of fun stories I've had with that, don't have any Mayflower ancestry myself nor ever found any connection to any presidents. One I can claim is Ethan Allen but only the cousin removed thing.
But if you are right, maybe there's a lot more for me there I didn't know about.

That means she's related to Vlad the Impaler and Lurch (the Kerry one) Oh, and IIRC either Prince Charles or the late Lady Di.

True. I followed my grandmother's line back and found that Thomas Jefferson’s aunt married into our family line. Would have made him some sort of cousin. Relevant to absolutely nothing, but it gives me a feeling of visceral connection and appreciation of the achievement of our founding fathers.

"My half brother is a tin-foiler. He thinks all presidents have to be of the reptilian bloodline, like David Icke and that crew."
This is, in fact the case, as it was revealed to me during my last visit (abduction) with the Nordics from the Pleiades. While on their ship they shared with me the filmbooks they had made that documented the shape-shifting Human/Reptilian Hybrids and their plan to conquer the world through the usurpation of all Republican forms of government.
This plan is carried out with the aid of the Illuminati and the Roman Catholic Church in secret coven with 33rd degree Masons worldwide.
The complete outline of this plan, complete with infant human sacrifice, blood-drinking rituals and eyewitness accounts of George Bush turning into a fanged mud-puppy can be found in my new book, not available in stores, but yours for three easy payments of $19.95 (plus S&H). This is payable in US currency which I will accept despite the fact that it will soon be rendered worthless by the carefully orchestrated crash of the worldwide economy, masterminded by Dick Cheney and Halliburton.
OOPS! Gotta go! I just realized that the commercial break with Roseann Barr selling condominiums in Las Vegas is over and their back to speading the gospel of anthropogenic global warming on C2CAM.

She's (Sarah) related to Princess Di through her Strong ancestry and on back. Work it back to Thomas Ford and Elizabeth Charde if you can, when the show pedigree in text format runs off the page by => indicating there's more, click on that symbol and do another pedigree>show in text format, some will deadend but many won't. For Sarah's, start with her, then click on the => for Jedediah Strong, then look for Thomas Ford and Elizabeth Charde. If I do a descendancy chart from that, I can't see it yet from the Dowling site, but I do have Sarah's line that way entered into my gen program. Thomas and Elizabeth had a daughter Abigail Ford from whom she is descended and down through Jedediah Strong (think he goes back to Mayflower ancestry, can't claim any Strongs for myself), also the daughter Joanna Ford (BrownDeer has her, too, but not linked as Abigail's sister, should have linked to person already in database, I've missed some that way, too) from whom I'm descended. Sarah's lineage the way I mentioned back further is verified by Gary Boyd Roberts, a New England genealogist, in one of his books, can't remember the exact title, American cousins of Princess Diana, can be found in a lot of libraries and was on amazon. So I can vouch for that much of it. I don't know if Roberts picked up Joanna Ford or not, need to track down that book myself, it wasn't on ancestry last time I looked but a couple other royal lineage books by him are there.
I see I'm probably related to Sarah through that also and some others I want to check out as well. And BrownDeer's recent sources are excellent as he pointed out to me last night, don't have time to log into ancestry and retrace his steps on that today.
So anyone who can trace their direct lineage back from her that way or any other names in that direct lineage will be related to her as well.
He's got enough on there to keep anyone occupied indefinitely. Much of it on there I do think he has taken from published genealogies. I think there are hundreds more of us out there who haven't worked their family history back far enough to make some of these connections.
BrownDeer, you've been a member since 1999, I since 2000, kind of a neat, would never have guessed you were a fellow FReeper!
Sarah's connection (cousin of some degree) to Princess Di is in this lineage, hope I got it all correctly:
Thomas Ford and Elizabeth Charde
Abigail Ford and Elder John Strong
Thomas Strong and Rachel Holton
Joseph Strong and Sarah Allen
Joseph Strong, Jr. and Elizabeth Strong
Benjamin Strong and Lucy Bishop
Dr. Joseph Strong and Rebecca Young
Eleanor Strong and John Wood
Ellen Wood and Frank Work
Frances Eleanor Work and John Burke Roche
Edmund Burke Roche and Ruth Sylvia Gill
Frances Burke Roche and Edward John Spencer
Diana Spencer (Princess Di)
Back to work on some of the other there.

My common ancestry to Nathan Hale is his 3rd great grandparents on his father's side, Samuel Cutter (1575-1637) and Elizabeth Leatherhead (1579-1664), so I guess that would make us 4th cousins.
I'm not sure how that would make us related to Sarah Palin, since her great-grandmother was a Strong, descended from Hale's mother's side. You would definitely be a cousin since John Strong is in your direct line too, but he isn't in mine (as far as I know).
Anyway, nice to meet you, cousin, and best of luck to your cousin and my cousin-in-law Mrs. Palin.

Maybe, just a little bit, looks like it, going back (let me think) five or six generations, rounding the corner, and coming back. ;’) Or maybe it’s more distant than that, frankly I didn’t look that close. Due to a bunch of my ancestral lines reaching back into early 17th century America, I’m related to, well, probably millions...
