First car: 1949 Cadillac

Favorite car: I’ve had a bunch, but the one that stands out and shouts “remember me” was my 1968 Dodge Dart. Probably the shortest period of time in my life I owned a particular car, but I was in the middle of divorce and didn’t want anything associated with that period of time anywhere near me. The car was exceptional.

Got rid of it and bought a 1970 Chrysler Imperial that too was a great car.

My first car was a 1947 club coupe. A club coupe had a small back seat as opposed to a coupe that had only a front seat. It was a good little car but was somewhat unappreciated because it wasn't a Ford or Chevy.

Similar to this one but mine was Marine Corp green.

This thread brings back a lot of fond memories. This may sound silly, but I think you have to be a Conservative in this day and age to appreciate the American Car Culture.

The Rats think they have a mission to put Americans in little “green” cars to save the planet. Laws on top of laws.

The liberal agenda is incremental. They want to regulate and control our lives for the common good. First it was toilets, them shower heads, then light bulbs.
Now it is cars and next it will be houses and telling you how many kids to have. Bank on it...

My dad owned a couple of corvairs. The first one was a 1960 model he bought in 1966. Now, the car we had at the time was an old plymouth (’52?). He came to pick me up at school before he took the corvair home to show my mom. I remember him standing against it like he was James Dean or something.

The second one was a ‘62. He owned that car until about 1971 or so. He used to take me out to big empty parking lots and let me drive it.

I got my first car in 1987 (17yrs old). I was a little hesitant because it was sooooo old but my dad promised me I'd like it.

My first car was a 1967 Mustang. LOL

The first car that I bought with my own money was a 1992 Saturn SC. Loved that little car...but not as much as the Mustang.

First car was a ‘51 Chevy straight six w/three on the tree. My Favorite was a ‘67 GTO Convertible, loaded, white inside and out, and I’m still kicking myself for parting with that one.

First car: baby blue 1958 Volvo
worst car: 1970 something Ford Maverick, I hated that car I ran it with out oil and it wouldn’t die.
Favorite car: it’s a tie between a 1968 Ford econline Van and my current 2001 Dodge Stratus. I love my Dodge but I had a LOT of fun in that van. (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)

An orange MG Midget. Coolest car ever for a little blonde 16-year-old girl. And I could go as fast as I wanted, and the cops would just ask me to slow down some. :)

First car, 1970 Buick LeSabre Custom, 4-door hardtop, 350 with Rochester 4bbl and automatic trans. Hated that car when my Dad (who had bought it new) gave it to me at age 17 in 76. Cried when I totalled it in 1979.

Since then, I've owned a variety of cars including a Dodge Colt (what a POS), two Chevy, one Dodge and one Nissan trucks, Two Chevy cars and a Ford Granada (for 2 weeks).

Favorite? I have it now. 1969 VW Beetle convertible. Fun to drive and fun to work on. It is one of 5 VW’s I've owned. I had a 65 Baja bug and an 84 Rabbit GTI back in the 80’s, and I also currently own a 2008 New Beetle convertible and a 1974 Super Beetle “Herbie” (parts car).

I'll add a least favorite. My second car, 1974 Triumph Shi-er-Spitfire. Bought it used, lasted for 12 of the 18 payments, threw a rod. I'll never buy another British car.

You will laugh but my first car was a ‘72 Vega GT. That car taught me how to turn a wrench big time. I put high compression pistons in it with a header and four barrel and I was smoking everyone. Then a piston let go and I put the stock type POS aluminum engine that at least had steel sleeves.

Favorite Car: I really like my 1995 Acura Integra, but I think my favorite would have been my 1973 Buick Riviera.

Hmmm, I’m not too much of a car person and mostly drove my Dad’s hand me downs.

I’m thinking the first was a Chevy Camaro probably around the year 1980.

I think the one I liked best was either a 97 or 98 Malibu.

My first was a 1962 MGA (predecessor to the MGB). I bought it with a siezed engine for $150.00. I rebuilt the engine and have been working on cars off and on for the last 35 years.

First car was a 1965 Ford Ranch Wagon in dark blue.

Favorite car was a 1969 Pontiac Firebird. Came with a factory Speedometer that went to 185 MPH.
Only car I ever burned a hole through the piston

My first car was a 1948 Crosley wagon. The engine was in 3 cardboard boxes. The mechanic across the street helped me put it together and my mom made seat covers for it. It was blue. I started driving in '58
