I listen to a lot of prog rock.
I recently got the 30th Anniversary Edition of an album I had not listened all the way through for years, and have been listening to it non stop.
So as a sub-theme of this thread, I am curious as to what us geezer types consider the greatest prog rock ever?
Something by Floyd? Yes? King Crimson?
I will get back later and reveal my choice.
Floyd.
Period.
Although I don’t consider myself a ‘geezer’ in any way, I do love progressive rock. Among those you listed I’d have to say Yes is my choice. Steve Howe is a phenomenal guitarist, and cumulatively that band has had some of the very best musicians in rock history. Some would argue that it wasn’t ‘rock and roll’. It doesn’t matter. It was and is great music.
King Crimson - Starless and Bible Black. With Larks Tongues In Aspic as a close second. Best prog ever!
